I knew a guy who almost bought one of Hitler's staff cars.. BIG mother****ing car, sort of like driving a boat from what I heard. It was apparently pretty damn cheap, too..

Of course, his wife was jewish.

    You have it all wrong

It was DEAN MARTIN who was p***ed out outside a **** shop

when he woke up ...he jumped on grizzley Adams chopper....

he wrecked it... and barris put it in Iowa in a train car.

Then grizzly adams and Elvis gave him a ride in a silver jaguar to jim morrisons house on sunset blvd....

They all turned gay and lived happly ever after wearing pink windbreakers.

My source was probably wrong on the trucks direction. It apparently was being trucked FROM Miami, Fl. as you verified it WAS there. It seems the driver was in on a bribe deal as the car did disappear on the trip back and in the Tampa area. No one believes me, but it really is in St. Pete!!

I always heard the story about george barris buying it and parting it. All the parts he sold hurt someone so he s****ped what was left.

  12. are there any "on the road" pics of the J-D car when it was on the wreckage tour ?
    i have seen some somewhere......

i remember it being more of a roller than what the 2 crash pics show..

i asked Mr Barris face to face"Where he thought it was now after all this time.?"and he did not flinch saying " he did not know? "
    p.s.
so re reading o bunch o threads here..........
the wreck was parted out of running gear pretty quickly the ch***is and body remains sent to the junkyard where BARRIS aquired the rear of the body and a door the rest was left at at the yard..?(really mashed stuff minus drivetrain ,a door and rear body).? (possibly the leftovers seen in either fla. or cali. recently?)

BARRIS put the few Dean body parts with another spyder wreck and toured it until it disappeared 1958???????
the ***t drivetrain parts were used and have stories of thier own and known to be around and still tracable.

this info summerized by me may be wrong ..

  17. Pictures do exist of the wreckage AND when it toured after. The original car was showcased as a warning to fast driving (what at the time was thought ot be the cause of the crash), and oddly enough the wreckage was m***aged into a "roller" car. The tail of the car remaining mostly untouched, paint and all, while the doors and nose were hammered back into recognizeable shapes. It certainly looked more like a familliar Porsche 550 by the time it was shown and eventually "lost". These cars were rare in 1955 and desired in the sports car circuit, so many parts were taken from it and used on other 550's including tires and the transaxle. "Rebel Without a Cause" and "Giant" were both released after his death which was on September 30 1955.

I saw the Dean Porsche remains at the Monterey Kar Kapades. I think it was 56 or 57. It didn't even look like a car. It was sitting all by itself and didn't seem to be a part of the show. I didn't see it getting much attention. I don't remember any parts, wheels, tires. Nothing but a small pile of crumpled silver painted metal. To the average person it looked like something you could see in any wrecking yard. There was a cardboard sign telling about the car. I was told that people were taking anything off that could be easily detached for souveniers. Barris had it with his other cars that were brought in as features to attract ticket sales. At the time James Dean wasn't that much of a legend. I think his movies were just hitting the theaters.

  19. If that was true, you would find it at the mouth of the Detroit River where it meets Lake Erie. That is where they find all the dead bodies that they missed in the first 48 hours.

  23. We have the mangled radiator with the hoses still attached to it from Dean's Spyder sitting on a shelf down at the shop. The old timer claims we'll never part with it.
