Ok so I was tired of riding around on the stock black vinyl seat that smelled like cat piss. I was also jealous of the guys from CA going down to Tijuana and getting some cheap tuck and roll. I mentioned it to a friend and he said why not call Easy E about getting some interior done by his guys at his dad's shop.

    Hmmm Not a bad IDEA!!

So I drop by, talk with Easy E as my interpreter and bam his dad offers a price that well I thought was more than fair. I even made a sketch of what I was wanting, (interpretation was kind of hard sometimes) I'm glad because Easy wasnt there when I dropped it off.

I set up the deal and drop the car off on Wednesday. Today Easy calls me and yup its done. So I drop what I'm doing and jolt over there.

I get there and look inside. The seat is perfect, the door panels are better than I expected and the Headliner is amazing! The only gripe I had was the carpet. I had installed some of it and asked him to hang some from the upper firewall to hide the firewall. I wanted him to outline it with black piping around the edge. Im not a big fan of different colored piping. Well he misunderstood me and I got white, he is going to redo it tomorrow and I'll pick it back up.

The dash, well that was a freebie and I think I'm going to repaint it this winter. Ill pull everything off, sand it down, smooth it out and respray it. But it looks fine for now. Just kind of thick and no prep sanding done.

    here is the before:

And the shifter boot was from the old shifter, I am making a nice one soon.... maybe I should ask if they will sew one up for me when I get back or give me some material and I sew it up later....

Thanks for looking and I still have some plans up my sleeve.

Nice job, looks good and beats the "before" by a 1000 miles.

But...that is top-stitched pleats not Tuck and Roll or Roll and Tuck or Rolled and Tucked or Tucked and Rolled.

yeah I figured that out but who is going to look at "TOP STITCHED PLEATS" lol

I just wanted to say TUCK AND ROLL. cause I used to hear it in the army all the time and I just laugh when I hear it or say it..

Ok guys its "top stitched pleats" haha

    I love it either way.

And if anyone wants them to do some work, PM me and I can set it up for ya. I will just need some photos of your car and probably your car for a week and well maybe a sketch or two. I can sketch something if you need I really like doing that and its a hobby I need to start doing again. I remember sketching cars all through school but I havent done it in years.

Just to stir the pot, what would some of you guys have paid for this work? I just want to see if I really did get the deal. Even if I didn't I'm very pleased.

Oh and my wife is even more excited than me now. She has only seen the pics and can't wait till I bring it home tomorrow.

Some idiot writer in a recent rod magazine tried to promote top-stitching as something different and exciting when darn near every car and truck and bulldozer has top-stitched seat covers and except for the bulldozer, door panels too.
It's just the simplest and cheapest way of making the pleated effect.
Most people don't even know the difference, but YOU do.

:D Looks very cool and goes well with your truck. Top stitching is a less expense way of making a mock tuck and roll. There is only half the stitching with the top style. Real tuck and roll is stitched on the front turned over and stitch again to hide the treads. Went to Mexico many years ago for one of those famous TJ tuck jobs a good experience.
The real name for this style is tuck n' roll the East Coast boys call it Rolls and Pleats. Good luck with your ride.

Thanks guys for everything. Im happier than all the kids I saw stealing candy friday night from the neighbors.

Now to get some seat belts and a shifter boot.

without the white piping. Now to get the shifter boot and seat belts, and repaint the dash. I have had an inquiry about selling it and well I might do it. If not then I'll repaint the dash, might even put some metallic black for the dash!!
