  5. Round 2 for me...

Saturday night after a relaxing catch up at the picnic, I met up with some friends for a BBQ just round the corner from the show. Seeing as I was in my roadster the wife took the opportunity to cruise out in my EK, not often I can get a shot like this....

There were more cars there but not lined up.

  9. I'm sure we'll catch up soon enough, was just good to see the A in the flesh.

I'm out for pics as most cars are already up.

  10. I'm just glad I made it there and back without any drama's.

I was a little nervous taking it that far seeing as the longest trip I had been in it was to Newstead, only 40 min from home, and I really didn't trust the diff up to this point.

Don't know what I was worrying about, I'm sure the ringing in my ears will stop soon.

  11. Thanks for the pics fellas, went down on saturday cos i had work on sunday, thanks for showing me what i missed.

Hey Rat, Really impressive collection of iron, from down under. Hard to pick one, but this one is very cool.

Nice pics fella's looks like a good weekend, that 3 window makes it hard to focus on anything else you got pics of, nice looking lineup of EK's there Devil, had to suffer with looking at pics of mine and my bro's old ones on the photo board for my 40th over the weekend one day I will jump the ditch and bring a decent one home.

  17. Great photos. Would be cool to go Down Under some time...:)

  18. Thanks for the pics guys. Didn't really see anything all weekend as per usual...even nice to see the car "I" picked for the Kustom Ink trophy!

Even though the weather was mostly great, the crowd (and subsequently trade) was noticeably down. A couple of other traders I managed to speak to late on Sunday arvo shared my opinion, so maybe we've seen the hobby's peak. Hot rods seem to be pretty thin on the ground judging by the pics.

Thanks for the pics. Some good cars there.

Looks like it was a good turn up - better than last year when I went down for a look, though I could only make the Sat.

Hey Peddro, maybe it's not that the hobby has reached it's peak, but all this talk of doom & gloom in the economy for our illustrious leaders, has made people a bit more cautious of where their dollar goes. Just a thought.

I was thinking that the photos of sunday look like there are less cars and people around. At least compaired to two years ago, you couldn't move then. But it was a great day by the looks of it. I know I enjoyed the Saturday.

Wow! Looks like a great time and some really fine rides. Thanks for posting the pics.

  24. Hi Mate,

I'd say its probably more that the Picnic has peaked more so then the hobby in general but maybe you're right. Retail trade is down across the board and with the Aussie dollar taking a dump you don't have much spare change for mags if you've just bought anything from the states. Unless you're Corey (nice mag mate) :D

A few more of my pics

  26. Sunday was definetly smaller than previous years, there were no cars to the melbourne end or near the entrants entrance, still a great show. The wheels were on my mates XK ute, they are magnesium torque thrusts off a front engine dragster from bakersfield, also a big thanks to my mate Jacko for allowing me to drive his A Model Pickup the green one in the photos above.

  30. Thanks for the pics Anthony, I bet you were laughing at me we you took this pic.
Funny thing is that we only got a few drops of rain on both of us.
Who says you need fenders on in the rain?
