    Anyone who lived in Southern California in the '60's-'80's know all about Cal Worthington and his dog Spot. I used to love seeing these commercials when I was a kid, they were almost as cool as the cartoons on Saturday morning. I ran across these earlier today:

    That's hilarious...I used to think he said pussy-cow. Ha Ha. It's true, really.

    Since someone brought up 80's cartoons does anyone remember Turbo Teen. It ruled.

    Last I heard he shoots his commercials in front of a green screen in Alaska because that's where he's currently living. Those commercials bring back lots of memories. I almost dressed up like him this Halloween, but opted not to. Damn.

    Good old Cal!
    How about Ralph Williams from back in the day???
    Here's an R rated TV commercial outtake;

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOpnOclSWNg

    IIRC, Ralph Williams was busted big time later in his career and may have did some time?

    The other Cat that did a ton of LA area TV commercials back in the 70's was the lil guy that did the "Zachary All" (sp?) Men's clothing stores.

    "C'mon down to Zachary All on Wilshire Blvd, we've got suits to fit all men from Tall to Portley"

    A few years back, I was reading the obituary's and there was a small write up on him. Took me back 30+ years to watching Saturday morning cartoons!

    I remember watching him in Phoenix. One I remember especially was with a very large Bengal tiger. Like the one in that clip. He used to poke fun at another dealer in Phoenix area with the animals he had, by saying. "And This Ain't No Bull". (Tex Earnhart Ford) (Tex used the "And this Ain't No Bull" in his advertisements)

    Cal has got to 110 years old doesn't he?:) Ah, the good old days of car dealer gimmicks.

    I also like the car dealer down there in Phoenix. Miracle Mile Motors. Their slogan was "If it runs, it's a Miracle".

    My ex father-in-law was in business with Cal here in Ventura in the early 60's. They had a car lot called Worthing CAR-MAN--the Car being Jack Carson--these guys are what gave used-car salesmen their reputations!!!
    Does anybody remember Ralph Williams Ford? He started in a Ford dealership near me in Santa Paula,Ca--then in Ventura about the same time as Worthington.
