Old Hot Rod mags--been collecting them for over 30 years. Popular Hot Rodding and Car Craft plus a few others too. So much history and the cars and parts were so common it makes you want to cry.

  5. We got this one back in the family in Oct. '04. Hadn't
been seen since '67ish. Going through restoration now
but it will be raced! The black and white photo is the
'63 March Meet. I have one more from San Fernado Drags I will post as soon as I get it scanned. If anyone
has any other photos I would greatly appreciate it. 68_12_sb.jpeg

Some of my all time favorite hot rods have been '32 tudors. I remember that one and it would look just as fresh if built today.

If I remember right that white 4 door A had canted '58 Bel Air tail lamps in the bobbrd rear fenders.

You can probably tell that I prefer the early-60s look. I am a total sucker for black steelies, baby moon caps and whitewalls. 30-31 A RPU with Deuce shell and rolled-forward rear fenders:

Funny how many of these "Old School Rods" have paint and were built with pride and craftsmanship. I wonder why people got the idea that to be "Old School" meant having a rusty piece of shit with bubblegum welds and a rat glued to the hood.....

Great thread! I love the 60s style. Reminds me of when I was a kid.

I love this car. It shows just how good looking a 4dr A can look with some imagination.

  20. Wow! I didn't even notice that it was a four-door... of course, it could be something to do with the bathing beauty. :)

Found this right-on '56 So-Cal street machine in a 1963 Popular Hot Rodding magazine. 409, 4-speed, two-into-four glasspack exhaust. Oh, and the polished magnesium Americans and M&H's are the crowning touch!

Thanks Gary, maybe this winter I'll find the money to take it back to the sixties.
