Dont worry she is a well taken cared of woman . After she seen how much the car went for she slapped me on the arm and asked me " how come you cant find a car like that ? " But I told her I found a better car ... OUR ... 30 model A coupe .

Yep. Ebay made $150 off that sale. Nice to see eBay get the short end once in awhile. I'm sure he'll not be accepting Paypal for payment.

Talk about dumb luck! Guy was thinkin "I got this old drag car lets see if I can get 4 grand out of it"! Then he ends up most likely being able to pay off his mortgage and all his other debt! BASTARD!

After looking at all the NOS muscle car parts bought by the winning bidder kinda leads me to think maybe? Jay Leno

Yep, he stated in one of the questions that Leno was the High Bidder. That would be cool. he has teh resources to do it right.

    Thats my guess....

piece of crap, just a Pontiac

  15. That's gonna be one frickin happy seller when he gets paid! Can you imagine seeing that kind of money in cash!
Mommas gonna get a new caddy! Pappas gonna get a new dually!
probably pay off that credit card too and go buy something special at harbor freight :) then, there is still a bunch left over. Probably will not have to work anymore, esp if he gets cash and does not have to show it on paper.

Can you imagine leaving feedback for someone who just gave you $226,000 in cash? I'd be inspired to write something nice there.

Word on the street is that it's not Jay Leno... Somebody on the east coast.

A guy had a '69 Mustang fastback shell for sale on ebay last year... 1 day before the end of auction, someone noticed that it had factory punched holes for rear brake ducting. It was a 1 of 1 GT500. The BARE shell went for 69k I believe. The owner was a body shop that had the car sitting in it's garage for 10 years. No next of kin to the owner that passed, so they decided to just auction it off. The guy had no idea what it was.

This one takes the cake though. Wow...

  18. When you search completed listings it will automatically show your zip if it has the shipping calculator. When I looked at the item it showed my zip. Ebay search shows him as a member for 8 years 9 months, and from NY, United States.

He/they still have to get paid for it.

It's one thing to bid a car up at Barrett Jackson where you have to prove to them that you have the money available to bid and then bid somewhat anonymously on a car and then disappear off the face of the earth as far as the seller is concerned.

Looking at his feedback that may not be an issue as he appears to be a very serious Pontiac restorer or someone who deals in correct Pontiac pieces.

Damn ... I Bet the seller feels pretty regretfull right about now! He was offered $500,000 to end the auction early and turned it down hmmmm?

What I find odd is the that ccsi2000 had 3 bids at the exact same time. He must have been using esnipe or other snipe software all programed at the same time. His high bid may have been 500K, but it will only increment up by $100 over the last highest bid. Sounds like all the other bidders never had a chance.....

I think it was the extra 63 cents that put the high bidder over the top.

The winners name is Scott tiemann he lives on the east coast. die hard pontiac guy. Hell make sure its done right.

EDIT: I stand corrected it does seem as if Scott Tiemann is not the new owner but will be doing the restoration

You're right, he must have something that lets him place 3 bids at once but why would he bid 3 times when all he had to do was place his one top bid? Whatever, it was just amazing to watch it. He also bought a pair of heads and an intake for $16,000. Yes, I'd like to be the person that owns that aluminum front end!!!!

  26. If that's right, and i have no reason to doubt it, look at this

Now I see why he bid so high---he won't have to spend much on gas when he travels to get the car. Apparently he's in Michigan!:D

So now the question is , should it be restored to showroom new with the 4spd transaxle, or to the "as raced" version with lettering, and the big car rear end?
