O/T, but knew a guy with a beautiful '69 Z/28. Plate read "BADFNZ."

A little OT as well, but my daily Toyota parts runner is "EN EVANT" which is almost French (missing the "E") for "to move forward or ahead." It was something that Tennessee Williams (the playwright) had written to my father back in the early eighties. When my dad died, we sold his car to a neighbor along with the plate. Years later my neighbor sold the car, but not to me (he wanted way too much), but I did manage to get the rights to the plate. Funny thing is my brother reads, writes, and speaks French and has even spent time in France, while I'm definitely American. I'm thinking of signing the rights over to him at some point - seems fitting.

Assuming that the "HOTROD" plate is already taken in all 50 states (safe bet), it would make an interesting study for someone to publish a photograph of all 50 cars that currently bear that plate. I'd pay a couple bucks to see that.

The correct spelling for that French expression would be "EN AVANT".

Can't find a photo, but there's a guy around here that has UVA (University of Virginia) tags that say GINA, put it together and it reads "UVAGINA".

A buddy of mine has this on his chop:

A couple guys in my car club have single digit license plates.

    Here's Minnesota #5 on a 1902 Cadillac:

I just LOVE '34 Fords so on my 34 coupe I have "34-GAZM".

I also recently picked up a pair of 1932 New Jersey plates that has "I-9322"!!!

We have a good friend here in Maryland who has one that's hard to beat: HOTROD... It belonged to his father. Instead of handing down the car, he handed down the license plate.. haha

I wanted to get Mustang for my car but it was already taken(big surprise) so I came up with this. P51A is the Mustang fighter plane of world war II fame.

Yup. You may be right. We've talked that topic up many times in the shop. We even thought the guy may have burned a big one and misspelled "Doobed":D
