You'd go to a restraunt and you could get anything you wanted as long as it didn't cost over $1.25 (you could get a steak for that).

My Dad had to stand in line to buy one, and I remember standing on the floorboard in front of the p***enger seat, bouncing up and down on my toes, saying "Go sixty, Daddy, go sixty!" About five years later I learned to drive in that car...

When your grandfather dropped you off after school driving the 1947 Ford school bus (the one you took the v8 out of for your first hot rod in 1962) just in time to catch Howdy Doody and the Kate Smith Hour on the first TV within 20 miles. That same TV went to a test pattern at 9:00 and came back on at 7:00 AM to catch the "new" Today Show with Dave Garroway and watching J.Fred Muggs (the chimp) jump from table to table on the set of the show. That was the only channel so you didn't need to spin the selector dial. The station was in Buffalo, NY (over 100 miles away) and when bad weather was in the area you just turned it off as there was no reception.

How about the Pinky Lee Show? He kind of made my hair stand on end, sort of like an evil clown.
