Last weeknd I rounded a corner in my girlfriend's neighborhood in my 65 Riv. In front of me about 20 yards were two little girls riding their bikes, probably 6-8 years old. I keep my distance and slow to nearly an idle. When the girls looked over their shoulders and saw what was creeping up behind them, they screamed to the top of their lungs, took a hard right to get off the street, laid their bikes down in the yard and ran in their house and slammed the door! I nearly pissed my pants laughing. Has anybody else had similar stories like this? It truly makes me love my car even more!

The first time that I fired mine off with the headers oipen my grandson took off like a scalded dog. That was a year ago. He is slowly warming up to the truck now but, has never ridden in it.

    That's great!

All summer I'd been putting that on the car show registration forms, under "the cars special features."

The HemiRod has a sound unlike anything I've heard before... kinda like someone trying to jackhammer their way out of hell!

HAHA! Not that I condone this kinda of behavoir.....
The wife and I were taking the Mustangs down to road race back in JAX.
We went to get cash outta the atm. She led the way into the early morning empty PUBLIXs parking lot. She was at the atm when a guy came up with his young 3 year son.
Well here comes this hell raiser in his white mustang....My wife said...not only did the windows reverb from the engine but the little kid pissed himself.. He tried to climb up his dads back getting away from the monster car.
The kid was crying and screaming....The wife motioned not to stop and made a quick get away in her car.

  8. One day, I was drivin my 61 pontiac to work and had no mufflers because i had broken my exhaust again. I drove past a family walking up the street and their kid put his hands over his ears and started to cry, and I got a very dissaproving look from his mum. I had a chuckle all the was home.

  9. My non friendly HAMB Nova does when it p***es them. Only thing behind the headers are blown out Thrust mufflers. When I stomp the loud pedal you can take loud literally.

Imagine a very black 1947 Mercury with no grille and loud leaky exhaust loudly coming around a curve in the road and a bunch of young o'bama supporters jumping the ditch to get out of the road!

Next, my 1935 Ford pickup with dashboard exhaust cutouts.
I backed out of the driveway, opened the cutouts and floored it headed down the street toward a bunch of those kids waiting for a government paid-for ride to school.
    They cleared the road too.

Frighten children & old women? Thats not hard to do.

Does your car scare grown men? If it does, then you are doing something right.

You did smoke the tires after they were off of the street, didn't you?

  13. There used to be an old lady/drunk that would purposely walk out in the road in front of cars to make them stop or go around. She saw me coming in my 454 powered 71 Chevelle and headed out on the road...I rugged that ****er full throttle through the 2 1/2 inch pipes right for her! Never seen her get off the road so fast in all my life. She never walked out in front of me again.

I had a little old lady give me the meanest scowling evil eye I'd ever seen one day at the local Meijer. I stop at all the crosswalk stop signs, I idle through the parking lot, finda a spot, and head in for the weekly groceries and she never takes her eye off me. I think it made her even more mad that I was laughing. I guess she didn't like her shopping experience to be disturbed by some hot rod hooligan? But hey, since I took the back seat out for weight savings, there's way more room.

My friend wife has a 60s VW van with a blown bigblock and sits on the ground, I told him that I want to watch her drive it into the locale Frys parking lot full of snowbirds.

We were talking just the other day about my 56 4door caddy and what it will be like painted black and sitting on the ground with that m***ive front end.

The aoogah horn I had on my 28 Model A pickup years ago brought smiles to some but terror to others. :D Can't imagine why! :D

  22. Years ago one of my 455 Pontiacs the muffler support broke and dragged the muffler and it had a hole in it before I could wire it up. It had a full dual exhaust and with just that one side open was loud as all hell, it would set off car alarms and stuff. I have to think with both sides open it would scare dead people.

My daily driver is a POS 91 Chevy truck with a 'healthy' .060 over 350 with headers and obnoxious exhaust. I have set off alarms with it before, but the best was a kid in a GEO Metro beside me. Had his window open listening to some hip-hop boom boom **** on a stereo worth triple what the car was. He had his window open when I went past and gunned it. The bark made him jump and the car went sideways and damn near smacked the curb. Even my wife, who usually gives me **** when I do something like this, had tears running down her face from laughing.

Kids love my car because it's so low they can walk right up and see inside. It scares the **** out of little kids, they snap right around and latch onto their mom/dad's thigh when I fire it up. I though it was funny at first but now I warn the parents that it's going to be loud and they take a few steps back. A 12.3:1 sbc with open headers and a .533 lift cam does tend to rattle the windows a bit. However Danimal's sons Court and Eli are fearless.:D

Had a couple of guys approach my sedan delivery from behind at a local show commenting on it. When they got to the front one says to the other holy **** theres not too much subtle about this thing from this angle is there.

My Es*** doesn't scare anyone, but my old 396 powered T-bucket was always good for doing that. It would set off car alarms too. Used to cruise one particular "yuppie" hangout in Calgary just to see how many alarms I could set off, then come back an hour or so later and do it again. :D

I have yet been able to get my 4 yr old granddaughter and 2 year old grandson in my pickup. "Too Noisy" they say.
My grandson will definitely be a gear head. He stops dead in his tracks when he hears a powerful engine go down the road.
