Customs HAMB Merc Club! who's in?????

Like the stance alot, I'll be asking you for measurements once I get mine back from paint jail.

 

Vert1940 e-mail it to me and I'll reduce it and post it for you as soon as Ryan gets the picture posting problem straightened out.

Some day I'll own a '39 or '40 Mercury.

i moved to kentucky from so cal like 15 years ago,,,i had always heard about barn finds growing up...well,like i said,ive been here 15 years and have yet to find my 'barn find'

,,while i WOULD feel fortuante to 'find' a 32/33/34 ford coupe TRUE barn find,,,i dont think it would come close to opening the doors on a old barn and finding a good 39/40 MERC coupe

i can only hope that ONE day i will find a nice 40 merc coupe in some farmers barn....that he wants to get ride of.!!


(all i want is one real barn find!,,thats all!) and i promise i wont sell it if i do find one!!!!

I love this chop!!!! Radical but it doesnt look overdone...not sure how to describe it but man I love it!! Cant wait to see it finished.

 

HI SAM F I like the pony keg it's my way of remenbering some of the great customs that run at the salt flat like Doug Rice & his 39 ford. Besides each car we build is a dream from are own mind .I like your chevy nice dream. Thanks Mick for posting my car.Thanks everyone for the kind words.

 

everytime i look at this thread my customers cars end up getting neglected for the day, very nice mercs!

 

I've got this '51, and also a '50 that was a Lincoln but the Lincoln part got smashed so there's just Merc left. I've got a frame and front clip located for the '50 that I hope will work out, and the '51 I'd like to fix the rust on the bottom, blend the green paint in over the repairs, and make it driveable. At the rate I work it'll be ready for Mercury's 100th birthday.

I love to tell people that I have 2 Merc coupes, even though neither of them are even close to roadable, and they'll both probably sit right where they are now for a couple years while I work through a trillion other projects.












I've got leads on 3 more coupes and a couple of 4 doors which I might try to get as well, although I don't know why. Just to hoard them I guess, at least until someone comes along who wants one. I hate to see stuff sitting out in other people's yards, when it could be here sitting in my yard.

It's wierd, these were always one of those cars that I loved but were kind of unattainable, and now all of a sudden they're all over the place (at least, for me). I figure I better get while the gettin's good.

Swiss cheese is a 50 (mexican merc 50 thread,as you know)

then i have a 1 owner 40 coupe running which will be chopped soon (can't wait )

then i have another 50 coupe waitin project

2 more coupes 49's projects

and 2 51's projects too

plan to buy 1/2 more very soon,already locate em ..in running conds!

in my dictionary there are only 2 doors ,BTW

Thought I'd add my name to the list as I have a 50 Mercury that's under going a restoration/rebuild/custom.

Looks great. Are you sure it's a '50? It has a '49 grill and fenders. Was the front end changed?

 

Tisk tisk Bob! The fenders are the same for 49/50 and those dont appear to be 49 parking lights. The inner fenders are 1950s, so is the bumper overrider but the grill center does appear to be a 49.

Oh contrare!!! The side markers ARE '49 and the grill center says EIGHT on it! Look a little closer,or put some glasses on,LOL...

I agree that those aren't stock '49 side markers,but those fenders are the same as mine!

 

MAN!!! there are some NICE Mercs on here.....I really need to get one of mine in better shape...

 

Yep, as I said the grill center is 49, but the markers are stock 49s if stock was a round housing with a bullet lense. Grill shell is 49 tho. Yeah 49 and 50 fenders are the same.
