Where can I find reproduction 8 lug rims for my 1946 chevrolet 3/4 ton truck? I was also wondering if HD rims off a Duramax will match the bolt pattern on my truck?

8 lug pattern on almost every 3/4 ton truck made since the 2nd world war is the same. The only problem is the center hole for the hub is too small on some factory steel wheels.

And it's a pretty sure thing that early 8 lug wheels will never be reproduced....there's very little demand for them.

  5. And Chevies had a smaller center hole than Ford, so Ford wheels work on Chevy, but not vice-versa.

yup, Chev rims have smaller center hole. I'm using '06 Dodge one ton wheels on my '48 Diamond T project, Chev one ton suspension in front, Dana 70 rear. The studs are different size, but that's no big deal.

I don't know about chevy and dodge but Fords went metric in 98 and they are just enough different that they don't fit.
I have seen some vintage 17.5 and 18 inch ones from the 40s-50s. I think the 18s are split though.

It was earlier than 08 that Ford went metric. I think it was 2000. As said all the 8 lug rims will interchange except for the difference noted on the center hole.

typo, I meant 98, and they don't all interchange anymore.

ford went to 8-170mm bolt pattern in 1999, with the release of the superduty. watch the center hole on later gm wheels as mention above. any dodge or ford wheels should work just fine.

I am running HD wheels off of a Duramax on my '69 Chevy pickup. You will need some conversion lug nuts that have the correct taper for the wheel and the correct thread for your lugs. They also allow you to use the caps. You can get the lug nuts on eBay. Let me know if you need me to measure anything specific.

Well the only problem I have is the front hubs stick out and I dont know if the center caps will fit over them. I am going to convert the front hubs over to 7/8 lugs to match the lugs on the 14 bolt rearend. I am going to mount up on the the truck.

If you are keeping the axle and drum brakes the later rims have a different offset and will need spacers so they wont hit the tie rod,I found this out when I had a 50 GMC. The 47 to 54 3/4 tons had a 15 inch 8 lug rims but they were a split rims so the centers could possibly be put in new outers. Jeff
