Dont waste good buildingtime, looking at pictures....... Start the welder, and get the piece of RUST together... Garahe!
Thanks, Lowlife. Sorry to disappoint, but I don't know the owner of the yellow truck. There's a similar chopped/channeled truck up in the SFO area, black with flames and belly burners (don't know him either). Here are a few more:
...and something competely completely different: a '34 Dodge. Who'da thunk there was a prewar time that Dodge had more style than Ford?
OK, last one: I went nuts when I saw this in 1954. The stacks on my truck were inspired by these (thanks, Mr Simonatti):
hey wes, I heard you inherited that cab from dave. I picked that cab up in austin for 150 bucks, traded it to dave for god knows what. maybe you'll get some good use out of it. it probably would have rotted to the ground with the rest of the junk that dave's got lying around. I waited for you guys to come by and look at those parts o well, maybe someother time later
Lowlife - Any more info on this truck? I really like it. I see Hop Up in the file name so I assume it came from there? Neal
Neal, sorry I don't know a thing about it, but I agree, it's nice.I did borrow it from Mort.FYI, since you asked for pics of T drag roadsters some time back, I've kept you in mind, but found nothing to speak of.Some early 60s, but all with Halibrands, etc. I'd have bet on finding a bunch, still looking.
I liked that truck so much that I did a quick photochop on it. This is what I plan to build. I channeled the cab 5" and made custom hood sides to fit. I also added a small panel with bead detail to fill in the frame space under the bed. The top was chopped about 4". I like longbeds, but shortened this one by about 4" to keep everything in nice proportion. I'm going to use this pict as inspiration.

[/ QUOTE ] Im 6'3-6'4ish possibly going to be 6'5 and weigh at 220. Would i fit in that with, say a 4 inch chop????... Just wondering since alot of you guys got umm, and i never sat in one. But I think there wild, and i want to build one..!!!
I am 6'1" 255lbs. cab is channled 6" and with a 4" thick seat I have enough room for 3"/4" of chop...and still have headroom.
Haring, that IS cool, I'll take it either way! Now, if you have time, how about one with your chop & shortened bed, but no channel please?
Nm, just looked at yours at the 2nd post on this thread. Love your rod. but for me its gotta be choped another 3-4 inches. UMmmmm maybe cut the roof make it look like a sedan with the canvis top.... gotta get more room!!!! or take a sedan, shortn it , chop it, channel, and put a little bend on it... something different....
great pics guys, keep em coming if ya got anymore. lodaddyo-sorry i didnt get to meet ya, i would still be interested in those parts and would pay to ship em too, the cab is in bitchen shape, im really stoked on it. wes
