Thanks! Yes Lee, it is an S&S Willys ... I'm still figuring out how to navigate this (pretty cool!) DVD frame-by-frame and select/store images. I'll try to post some more later ... Any 'requests'?

Any shots of Tex Randall's rail or footage from Aquasco?

  3. The Galaxie is most likely being driven by Bud Shelenberger(sp?). This would have been 1964. He won Indy later on. He also drove the King Ford T-bolt. My guess is the Bonner Falcon is still the "Georgia Peach" here. It didn't get lettered with "The Warbucks" until late '64 early '65. The "Daddy Warbucks" name showed up on his AFX Mustang at the Winter Nats in '65 then the Poppy Red AWB Falcon after that.

    Great shots!!! Keep them coming!!

  4. Requests? Any SS/AFX cars you have!! T-bolts and LW Galaxies are top priority for me though!!!:D

Sorry, no Aquasco shots Lee. I went there 1957-59, and then it was just York, Capitol, 75-80, Cecil and Englishtown.

I do have a small amount of footage of Racing Parts & Machine's and (I think) the Coleman Bros diggers @ Capitol.

    Tom,
You would be correct. Here are a couple of pictures of S&M taken by George at the same race. Love the one with Ronnie and Buddy sitting in the car talking things over.

Always liked this (lucky) shot I grabbed (at Cecil) of Ronnie in a 'pre-match-race' moment of contemplation. Wonder if the guy with his back to me was Jake, Buddy or ... ?

Yea, Most-likely is a 'Club' Verne. It was from a LIFE magazine piece ... the only info the site gives is ...

"National Hot Rod Association'S Drag Racing Meet Held In Santa Ana, Calif. Phototogragher: Ralph Crane"
    (*date not given)

I really loved the way 'Race-track WHITE' was the the attire color of choice (at least on the 'other' coast) back then! It was so ... Very C:cool::cool:L!

White "ducks" had been the basic racing/pit attire since the beginnings of organized racing, oval track especially, throughout the nation, not just the west coast. I seem to recall it's origins being with the AAA officials and organization, that was racing's top sanctioning body in the country wanted to present a clean image.
