I had a guy contact me about swapping my G***er for this 37 Fiat .Its a steel body with a gl*** front, hot fresh solid cammed 327 ,T-350 ,and 9 inch with 4.11's.It runs 12.40's and is a street legal car that he got on trade and cant fit in it to drive comfortably .He approached me about the trading for my Ranchero G***er and he seems legit on the phone.I realize the car needs some changes badly like cooler wheels and the paint is not my thing ,nor is the anodized air cleaner and valve covers ,but these things are easy to change. He says it has a drop axle and drives great ,tagged ,the works.Would you trade and whats it worth ? I know very little about import rods ,but i like the looks of Fiats ,Bantams and Anglias.Only constructive critisizm please and thanks for your help.Im having hell trying to get the photos he emailed me put on the thread ,but im trying...

We'll wait for the pics:) but if it were me and the Fiat is good I'd be more than willing to trade my 55 for it and just add a tunnelram to the 327:rolleyes:. If you fit into the Fiat and like the way it is or the way you can make it yours then go for it.You have to be the one to be happy with your decision. Good luck

if he can't fit a fiat in his driveway...hows he gonna fit a 55?

  4. I would do the trade, that steel Fiat body is worth more than 3 running Rancheros.

Ya , i think i will .I can always change it to the mandatory 4 spd. later on .I think with a different paint scheme and some 12 spokes on the front and polished slots on the back it would look killer. Now if the guy dont turn out to be a flake ,im good to go.He sounded legit when he called about it yesterday ,but he wouldnt be the first person to pull a disappearing act on me ...

Make the trade. Like you said new paint job, 12 spokes on the front with a smaller tire will look great. Maybe lose the spare tire? Other than that the car looks nicely built.

I love fiats, and will never own one, they're too small for me to drive (6'5"). Make sure you fit, no matter how cool it is, it ain't cool sittin' in the garage or on a trailer. I'm not a big ranchero fan, but something you can drive is always better than a trailer gueen. But that fiat really is ***s if you fit.

    from nowhere...

Are you talking for the street, or for the strip?
The body is worth a buck or two, but IMO they are a drag car, or just a novelty...
Your gonna get the "cute dune-buggy" thing alot...

The Ranchero might have been seen on the Boulevard, or at the track...
I think by the time the Thames/Anglia/Fiat/Morris thing happened, it was just the rules being bent as far as they would possibly flex, I don't think too many folks were driving them on the street. At that point, it was just finding the most advantageous platform, even if it was a silly-looking one.

I'd keep the Ranchero, if it was just for a driver.

    My $.02
