Any ideas besides the same old chopped and layed back window frame?

Made these up for my T. Just made some patterns and had the foundry cast them. My friend polished them up for me. I've since had some cast in aluminium (these are bronze).

    Richard,

I'm thinking the same and will be producing a limited batch in the next few weeks.

I've had a lot of interest since I posted the picture. I'm going to take some good quality pictures tomorrow and post them up.

  7. Oh shit, you're in England, the shipping will be a thousand bucks! Not really. How long are they? An international flat rate box, 8 1/2"x 11"x 5 1/2" is $38.95 US,
    12"x 12"x 5 1/2" is $49.95.

  11. Very cool (although I prefer the look with a centre stanchion).

How does one go about making a pattern?

These ones were modified from a boat, circa 1950...

    Hi Big A,

I used modeling wax and stuffed a welding rod down the centre to stiffen it up. Then carved the shape using a cheese shaver. Then I cast a resin copy in a plaster mould and filled and smoothed this out. This became the foundry pattern.

The main thing to consider is getting the draft angles right so the pattern can be taken out of the sand ie no undercuts.

Get a book on patternmaking for the basics from your local library.

    All the best

    Bert

    Dude,
You got a big enough handlebar mustache to use one of those?

  15. Excellent work. Will those fit on a steel 27T? Does the cowl vent need to be removed.

Thinking about starting a new trend. You have a pretty good start.
