flathead for intake

    can you interchange intakes from early ford model flatheads with the later? I thought i read this somewhere here but wanted to make sure.

    Yes we can !

    You also have to use the early model fuel pump then.Do those fuel pump pushrods interchange without problems ?

    Check the fuel pump for pressure, some are 5lbs, not good for Strombergs..

    I seem to recall urkillinmesmalls pressing an early fuel pump pushrod bushing into the later one (different diameters) to make it work...maybe he'll chime in.

    You also need to make sure you're venting properly.

    The early intake used the vent a the fuel pump stand and one on the oil pan, whereas the later engine used the road draft tube and the oil fill breather.
