Ok, I have a Olds grill bar I am using for a rear Bumper on my International P/U I am building. I took out the insert and took a pic (below) and am wondering if anyone knew of an old taillight that would fit in about that size? Otherwise I can get some red plexiglass and make my own but then it would be fairly flat. Figured someone might know of something!:D

Cut out the metal between the bars on insert and back it with red plexiglass for your lens.

That would look very cool, the backing plate that mounts it is real thick so I would have to figure a different mount, but that might be the way to go!

    Thanks:D

Couple years ago a buddy did the same thing.
The cat eye shaped tail light that Billet Speciality sells fit it perfect.
It looked good.Maybe check ebay for a bargain on those?

I don't have one to measure, But maybe check the size of '57 Chevy Bel Air Reverse lights for the Housing & make your own Plexi Glass lens's.

If it were me, I would ONLY use parts from an Early car instead of any New Cheap Chinese lights.. Buts thats me.

Also, You could find some Cool lights to go on the fenders & use those openings to run Oval Exhaust tipe .

Yep, I wouldn't use the repop Chinese ones either but the size is near perfect.

I am running Lake style headers, so no rear exhaust, that was my original thought though
    Thanks

The measurements shown in the eBay listing are for the overall size of the unit. The portion of the lens that sticks through the bezel is closer to 1.5" x 6".

LeeLenses.com carries a number of custom oval lenses ('51 Ford and '54 Chev, in addition to the shoebox parts), and the guy who runs it -- I think it's Johnnie Smith -- is a nice guy. You might be able to get a pair of untrimmed lenses from him with an extra-wide flange to fill up the opening in your bar.

  18. Lee's, thats what I was thinking too.

I looked at the pics you linked up ....

Not really my cup of Tea, But i had to post this just for thought.

The build of the whole truck does not fit the bumper, or vice~versa.

I would run no bumper or a thin Blade bumper & somthing along the lines of Model A or old Pick Up lights off stands.

Its just me but that Olds bumper thing looks outa place.

Get an old signal lens off ebay and take it to a glass shop or stained glass shop who has a glass cutting say and have them cut it to fit, it will be curved and has light defusers..

Knew it wouldn't be everyone's "cup of tea" but I am sticking with what I have.
