took awhile to get it under control... tires like rocks...:)

But we made the A main...

Passed Kenyon with his V8 Hoettles Suzuki in the heat race...

He sounded like a SIREN....when i went by him....:)

Rich was great.. He came to Two of my Promotions.. I asked and he said.. "ill be there" no problem.. Never asked for any thing special.. He said " I just want to beat Heydenreich "..:)...came close each time..
The 3rd time he said he would come and race was at My show at Wayne county Speedway... the Wed after the SAt.. he died...
Never made it of course ... and i didnt feel like promoting anything for a long long time...
Vogler was one of the few REAL RACERS who ...came ... raced... and never once complained about anything...! or asked for show money... Tho i paid him....
I just couldnt announce HIM ahead of time as.. some drivers wouldnt show up then....:)
We ran a show at East Bay Raceway... Midgets with Wings... Richie came over and said he wanted to run with us... i said you dont have a wing....HE said.. " i dont need one " ).....He got 2nd and might have passed HEYDENREICH .. who won... if there was just one more lap....!!
    Lifes just tooo damn short.....

WOW! Great pix!..... April 1964....... The shot of the Wergland Chevy and Johnny White's Weinberger Chevy is a great photo. White's career ended two months later, when he crashed the Weinberger car at Terra Haute, only a few days after winning "rookie of the year" at INDY. Whose in the Wergland???? Marshman???

You guys might want to check out the new Kurtis Indy roadster we're doing. It will be powered by a brand new, built from scratch, supercharged "NOVI" V8. Engine builder, Steve Farkley, is using two OFFY midget blocks mounted to a new 90 degree V8 crankcase.

    Have a look!

Mac, I think it is Bob Mathouser in the Wergland car. Definititly not Bobby Marshman.

Seeburgrepair, you're right about Rich never complaining. After we smoothed out the ripples and sealed the IRP oval in the late 80s, I asked him if it was better, and he said, "I never thought it was too bad before."

Good Day Gentlemen. My name is Joe. I am Ray Gross's grandson. I just wanted to let you know that he passed away on Tuesday afternoon in Louisville. I also wanted to thank you for remembering him in a kind way. He was a good man who loved racing and he will be missed.

Ron Kramer, great pictures from Williams Grove and Langhorne. I just watched the Dick Wallen flick that had that Champ Car race at Langhorne.

I think that is Hank Rodgers Jr in the white 20 something. The guy in the red drivers suit and straw hat is Jimmy Maguire.

Are you the Ron Kramer that ran sprints in the east???

  30. Could the indoor arena be the Armory on franklin Ave. in the Bronx?? Re the Indy car & midget, I think the Indy car is the same car driven @ Wms. Grove when killed. At that time the car was owned by Jack Robbins.
