What a standup guy! He sold me an interior a while back and the deal didn't go through. So I told him to keep me in mind if the situation changed. Well he recently bought another '51 Merc and told me he wasn't gonna use the interior that came with it. Of course I jumped at the chance, since i've been riding on springs for about two years,HA HA! I called him today and asked him if I could get it today, instead of Sunday. He said sure,so my son and I went to get it. The Merc he just got was a steal and looked great! The pic's looked like the interior was black with red pleats, but when we got there,it turned out to be black with brick colored pleats! I didn't care cause I was finally getting an interior!!!

    Here's what I got...
    front seat
    back seat
    door panels
    quarter panels,with arm rests
    kick panels
    pleated package tray panel
    all the carpet
    trunk carpet
    Here's the kicker...$500!!!!!! that's insane!!!

    Started with the back...

Then sprayed the door panels...I know they look funny, but it was cold outside and they started to frost up...

It is amazing just how much a fresh interior (new or used) can do for a car...not to mention your own personal state of mind.
Freshening/Replacing an interior always gives me that same feeling I get when I first get the actual car.
Love it. Looks damn good Bob.

Looks good Bob! I sprayed the interior in one my cars years ago and had that frosting problem. I was able to spray another coat on a more favorable day and it covered it up and looked fine.

Is your old front seat complete with all the trim? I'm looking for one to replace the late model Olds seats in mine. All I need is the frames, trim and tracks. I can do new cushions, replace broken springs and upholstery, I just need a merc seat to start with. :)

    Sorry! It's already spoken for.
I tried to finish before it got cold, but there was too much to do. I'm thinking about re-spraying the pleated part red anyways...Too much black in there!

:( Oh well, the fun is in the hunt, right? :)

I think red would look good. I wasn't hating the brick in it's own right, but appreciate it didn't match your flames. The all black looks decent enough, but I like most interiors to have some contrast going on for interest. My .02
