Terraplane was not around in 1927. Rat rod shouldn't be now.

    I'll get used to it...

Have you used this type rear suspension before?

I have some reservations about how well its going to work.

Are the rear bones solid mount on the rear end, or do they pivot? If they are solid mount you will have binding caused by the 3rd link. Disconect the springs and run it through its full range of travel see what happens.

What holds the spring mounts to the chassis? Are they bolted on with 2 bolts? 1/4 eliptical springs are hard on mounts due to twist and articulation. You should be running a set of articulating shackles.

Not trying to be a dick, but it looks plenty scary to me.

I have not used this before. It is experimental. It started out with long split bones(which are welded to the axle) and I built it from there adressing issues as I noticed them i.e binding, side movement. The two bolts are temporary b/c I didn't want to weld it all solid and find it not work. The rear susp. doesn't have or need a lot of articulation. So far there is not any binding with the 3rd link because of its angle. As the axle comes up pinion rotates down but 3rd link elongates with its angle change. My problem now is the panhard bar. It tends to limit camber articulation. Do you think that a longe one will help, or possibly a watts link set up? I posted those pics for the input, thanks. Any thoughts on the car?

Put pivots on the back of the split bones, so the body can roll in a corner.

Then mount a longer panhard bar on back.
Or triangulate a pair of upper links.

looks like quite a mess to me. I say burn it all off and try something thats going to work. looks like you can probably still return the "third link" and the "panhard" to the farm supply place if you kept your reciept.
