    Hey guys

Would like to see your project's floors as it were by the time you got it.
"NO floors" at all kind of project would help some more. Some after pics would be appreciated also.

My 34' floors are SO gone im afraid its gonna be easier to get a 2nd car.
Gonna have to cage it to avoid the swinging when trying to move it  Scary

    Gonna post some pics tomorrow.

    Thanks
    Diego

It's 3/4 square with 16 gauge sheet metal...

I can't take all the credit... I did allot but Littleman got it started.. He did one side and I
    copied the other side..

Then Dave Martinez and I laid the sheet metal..it was a *****... Lots of welding but ya
    its pretty strong :D

    Evel,
I like the idea of the rear fire wall to seperate the drivers compartment from the trunk and gas tank. I'll be doing the same on my Model A.

It looks like the floor in the trunk would just be flat and tie into that steel firewall?? How'd you mount the gas tank??

I'm having the same issues on my 31, trying to mount the gas tank and battery and still keep a useable trunk.

    Thanks

Ya my plan was to have the inside as sealed as possible... I have a stock T tank that I
got from Hot rod company and I mounted it between the rails just behind the rear firewall..

as for trunk space there rally is not that much... but I have a ton of leg room (6'2 I need it )

Heres what it looked like before I made the trunk area..

The Battery tray just clears the spring and we made mounts that come off the
frame...its really a tight fit all around...

Heres what it looked like just before upholstery

Cut, Fit, Grind, Weld... Repeat 100000000000 times :D

    really tho..

get the body where it spose to be make sure its a perfect clamp it down..
if you look in the first 2 pictures you can see what we started out with... laying the the
square tubing on the frame and working off of that.. it's kinda hard to explain... you just
build a grid or I like to call it the rib cage :D I think we did a bit of overkill but when you got
littleman on your team he's going to make sure I can go 300 MPH and the floor still
will be in tact... hahahahah but ya its kind of a puzzle of sorts.....

if you got questions how we did what...I might be able to answer them better...

Beautiful!!!, EVEL... and "bear with me here"!!! I am ---NOT--- being sarcastic: In your deck lid it looks like the diamond tuck is BEHIND the holes, am I seeing that right? and my next question is what are the blue highlights around those holes??? Custom paint, graphics, "chalk" to line out stuff??? Maybe that is a paint scheme I am not seeing on the whole car?? Like I said NOT being an *** or SARCASTIC, I am just wondering!!!
P.S. the MFS on the plate, You got VERY lucky, or is it a custom made plate??? It ALL looks good man...Ken

Yes those are fades around the holes with Diamond pleat instert behind them Donnie from
imperial Customs (Painter) did that as a suprise cause he knew how much I love fades...
LIVE WIRE has a dark blue fade that runs along the bottom of the body and up on the
the inside of the wheel well and around the bottom of the rear.. also on the bottom of the
grille shell.. you will be able to see all the detail in the next issue of Rod and Custom..
the whole drive line is also painted dark blue with light blue fades...

Here's my dads floors in his 33 plymouth that i fabricated for him from 16 guage cold rolled steel. the car sits on duece rails with a custom rear kickup so the floors were done a touch different than stock. I will put some beads in em for strength but i dont use the tubing underneath, nothing wrong with it just wanted to show another way.

    Hey Evel,

Only place my Tudor's body could rest is on the ground right now ;)

So.., I guess the tubing (cage) rests over the frame (already welded to the frame?) and then the body is mounted on the cage and welded together once you reached your desired stance (weld cage to pillars ?!?!).

In few words, the cage is the actual new floor, then skin is added to it.

Is this cage approach because of the channeling or to bring more strenght to the body or what ? whats the big difference between this and standard new floors.

    Thanks a lot
    Diego

I couldn't find any before pics of the floor but here are of few of my finished project.

Maybe not as smooth looking or weather resistant as the convetional sheet metal route but it sure made for a fun ride.

I Used 1" box tubing for the subfloor and 1/2" expanded metal sheet for the floorpan. I welded threaded bungs to the subfloor and bolted through the sheet so that I would be able to remove it later for easy access.

Love the cross ram, but I have to ask why a duece frame was used. Mopar frames and suspension are RAD. Plus they have they have those kick *** W axles.
