So I'm board and decided to see what it would look like if I turned my Model A pickup into a car. Heres is what I have come up with so far. I'm unsure if I like it. Looks alot better chopped IMO.
I enjoy seeing dreamed CAD or whatever it is stuff. If metal is involved with a change like this, I'd rather see you search for the body style you really want instead of cutting up a c.c.pickup. In my eyes, the 3w design w/chop has a body that's too tall and long for the passenger compartment. And also, good work on generating those "drawings". A piece of paper or a workable program can generate a lot of ideas. I use paper. Extended wheelbase extended cab? Crew cab, almost no bed? Full length bed?

What about the pacel tray! Essex made styles like that, dont ruin a good Ford. I had one of these! and turned it into one of those!
It would probably make a better illustration if you drop the hood line a bit. The 30-31 hood line drops approx 2". It matches the angle of the cowl which is where the drop starts, but the 2" (approx) starts from the front of the cowl. Same deal on the rear, the same year A's have the trunk line drop similar to the 27 T roadster, but not quite as radical. 32 trunk lines go pretty much straight back from the cockpit when you view the horizontal line from the side. I vote for building a pickup. Do a chop for sure, but don't get too carried away. If you're a tall guy you may not be able to get the seating etc. well done ergonomically speaking. And . . . if you're not a tall guy, you'll play hell selling the car since it won't appeal to a wide audience vertically speaking and tall guys will opt out of a potential sale....
I like the drawing on the bottom. the length of the car gives the car a more elegant appearance. I'd probably run it full fendered.
Ill add that to the drawing, thanks! I'd run full fenders also, thats the exact look i was trying to create. maybe even extend the hood to house a Straight 8 with a ground shaking rumble. Everything painted gloss black, including the rims with black wall tires. A Duesenberg like presence.
Interesting ideas...I have gone the other way and built a pick up cab from a coupe cowl and doors and a 28 Dodge rear panel. I used the longer doors to give me a bigger cab space.
Now that is real cleaver Kiwi logic, extra space, I am with you on that. A lot of project look great but are they functional, especially some radical chops!
I'd add a couple inches to the B-post, right behind the door. You're going to want it for the room and I think that post would look better if it was a tad fatter.
I like the way your "truck cab" came out, the A, and T ford truck cabs are a little claustrophobic for me.
