Well the story goes I got me a free 2 door chev so I decided I'd take 3" out of the side of it and pull 4" off the top I'll post updates as I go Just got her home Nice ratty interior Strip down time New power plant chev 350 Some rust issues have to get those out the way first before I cut her up Getting her marked up for a 3" section Snip snip Drop her back down The start of lots of welding to come Now for the chop. Keeping it simple strait 4" Now to start on the doors
Doors back on and decided to slant the posts Parting shot for now... New toys!! Time to squash the trunk First gotta cut out the guts Next mark it and cut er up This part was a lot of trial and error now I know why everyone bitches about doing these trucks and nothing lining up or stretching to place lol. Eventually got er figured out.
Hey, 'Hoitink'...very nice! Only here on the HAMB, can we see a grungy old give-away car be turned into a badass custom before our very eyes! Keep us posted...
I love how this is coming out. the trunk lid looks cool! Check out the quick photochop I did and see what you think. I had read that in the 50's sometimes they would raise the windshield frame back up into the roof to better line up the w/s with the door windows.
yes by the way this is are moving! he is probably cruising right now... here is the car I was thinking of , from riksters site... I think they raised the w/s and pancaked the roof skin
Nice job man! I like how you did the doors, instead of cutting through the outer skin you relieved the inner structure ,slid the skin down and trimmed the bottom off,Nice. The trunk lid came out great also.Jobs like this separate the Bullshitters from the real custom builders with talent .
OK, Now I'm impressed all to hell. Nice work!. Please keep us posted. I wanna see how this turns out. I dont often rate threads, but this is a five star for sure!
Very cool. Normally i don't like sectioned cars.. But your proportion's look real good! I think this is going to be real slick when your done.. Nice work!!! Tony
This makes me want to blow my car apart just so I can section it! After seeing how you went through yours, it looks like a cakewalk. Very nice job tho, that's one thing about being in Canada. Once winter hits, there's lots of time for out in the garage!!
