The cruise is looking pretty good... but traffic laws will have to be obeyed. Anyone doing burnouts or gunning it on city streets will be cited. Thats part of the deal. It will be cool enough to get to do an organized cruise around the nice old section of town.

I'll work on hot rod only parking ringing the town square as well. Shouldnt be a problem.

Will take a week or so to hear back on the concert idea. Dont know if that will fly. Its up to the Chamber of Commerce.

HELL YES!!! And I know that I'm not alone in this...shows like this are the ones that we like, and if last year's show was any indication of how great this could be, it would be fantastic to have a two day show. Move the hell over Goodguys! More of an on-site designated camping area would be good, too.

Well, I can tell ya that I had planned on making a trip from northern california up there to visit some family. and I think this looks to be a good time to do it!

It would be a nice trip in the wagon and HELL YES! on a two dayer!

This year was GREAT !....We had a blast....The only concern was the no cruising by-law in that town.....we felt like we had to sneak around the block to look for a parking spot with cops watching everywhere....It didn't ruin our weekend at all, just sayin'.....maybe they saw that everything was cool and they can relax a bit next year.....I'm all for the 2 day thing....the town is beautiful.... with all the cool old buildings, it makes for really good photo ops with the cars.....And we all know the PNW has the best cars....:D:cool:

After that guy who flew up from California pointed out the three cars that didn't fit in, I'm not sure I want to go.

It was still the best event of the year.

thats why I'm involving the city and the PD.

it will be an officially blessed cruise night. The PD can be convinced to look the other way about the "no cruising" law if city hall says it means hundreds of full hotel rooms, meals and such bought in the town.

It also means everyone will have to be their best behavior. Anyone caught doing burnouts, or going over the speed limit... any sort of stupid stuff on city streets will be ticketed. If that happens we run the risk of not being invited back to town at ALL. The PD and City Hall are buddy-buddy with the Fairgrounds. If the town aint happy, we have no show.

So to do this I'm calling on all of the participants to self police this thing. If you see someone doing stupid stuff on city streets, express your displeasure. Do it tactfully and thoughtfully. I'm not asking for a gang mentality, but just some common sense. Kenny Parks and the like fought this battle for us many years ago, dont make us fight it again.

This can be a really cool event, or it can be get screwed up in a major way.

    Kinda up to ya'll.

just sent off the application for the cruise to the city.

Still waiting to hear from the Chamber of Commerce around using the city park as a venue for a concert that night. Will give them a buzz today to see whats up.

Reguarding the cruise night: that can be an easy issue if the city ok's it. Yakima has a no cruising thing on the books too but the city dads sponsor three big cruise nights every year that get big turn outs. The only problems that they have had aren't with car guys but bangers that show up and act up.

Richland has a cruise night along with Cool Desert nights where you have to be registered for the event or possibly the cruise night to cruise.

  20. Talked to a few guys, lately, and we need a 2 dayer, so we all can enjoy the kars.
So bottom line "Lets do it"

  21. Remind th city, they cancelled the KKOA event up there, so the leaf and twig eating bicyclist could drive through town.

wonder how many citations were written, if any, at the last show,
the sirens were going off every couple minutes in town Friday night.

I know there was one "arrest" made. The story goes that someone did a burn-out and that the car was stopped, and the driver arrested after a felony stop procedure (hands out the window, walk backwards towards my voice, lace yer fingers behind yer head...).

I didnt see it happen, but I do know there had to be more to the story than that. An officer would not perform a felony stop on a simple traffic violation.

Than being said... if the cruise goes through (and it looks like it will) the police will be involved and will be citing traffic violators. As they should. A cruise does not turn the city streets into a race track. Cars simply cannot be operated in a high performance manner with no barriers between the cars and the public.

    Hey Choptop,

Two days will be twice as much fun as last year. Glad to this see you bumped the year to '64, we're bringing two cars. Although you might want to rethink who the host hotel is. A bunch of us had a pretty shitty experience with that hotel last year. They aren't 'rod friendly, charged more than the agreed rate and then the manager/owner basically ran us out on Saturday and wouldn't give us a refund for Sat. night. The guy even called the cops on us for wanting a refund. The Chehalis cops were cool though, they didn't have a problem with us and said that they had been there before for the same type of thing.

BEWARE!!!! There will be no wheezing of the juice in the Quikee Mart parking lot!

Definitly Do not use the same hotel. The guy was a total prick. The Cops even told us that this was not the first time they have had problems with him. I would however highly recomend every one drive through the parking lot especaly if you have open pipes.

    Avoid The Relax Inn!!!!!!!!
Like has been said above....The owner is an ass. of course after a hard day behind the counter at 7-11 who wants to put up with a bunch of people enjoying life. Plenty of other places to stay that dont mind a little loitering around the cars and beers in the evening.

Wish I would have seen this before I gave them my business........ from the "Rip Off Report"

550 SW Parkland Dr., Chehalis, WA 98532

I was driving late Saturday night and was too tired to continue home. Stopped in and the motel looked OK from the outside.

After pulling back the sheets I instantly saw several long black hairs wound together against the white sheets.

Being so tired I briefly contemplated using a pillow and sleeping on the 4 ft. couch but found small hairs on the pillow case.

Grossed out by these obviously unwashed sheets I returned to the motel office and informed him that I was not staying there.

He defiantly pointed to a white board on the back wall where it was hand-written:

    'No Refunds
    No Smoking in
    Non-Smoking Rooms'

I conceded that if I had smoked in a non-smoking room then that would be fine. He responded that the top line was un-related to the rest of it.

Stating again that the sheets were unwashed his only response was 'No Refund.'

He refused to inspect the room with me so I could show him the condition and said that the room was fine.

So I left and hopefully my credit card company will be successful in helping me dispute the charge.

All this happened within 10 minutes.
