Projects The Chris Casny Coupe, Model A build pics

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris Casny, Apr 25, 2008.

  1. Yeah, I see your point, I might have to re engineer the mount. I'm aware that in a crash the bumper would not save anything. My thought was, to have a "paint saver". Also, I have not seen anything like that, in a while.

Oh, the scar, is cooler than tattoos:D, chicks dig it. No numbness at all, at least not there:D

Why couldn't you have it bolt to the frame instead of the body?

  8. Yep, I looked at it.
I have done the same set up on my other car (27 Nash Boattail) no bumpsteer.
If that principal, of the above mentioned T-bucket site, was entirely true, than any car with cowl steering wouldnt work.
Example, the Rolling Bones deuces, 3WLarry's old deuce, they all have, more or less, the same goemetry, as what I'm doing.
I'm not entirely convinced the T-Bucket guy has any hands on experience.

Excellent build. Great attention to detail.

I wish everyone who plans to plate their headers would study this thread. Those are beautiful. Nice and smooth.

Simply amazing. I am def going to "borrow" some of your ideas and make them mine for my build. I like the way you think just outside of the box.

  14. My goal for the end of 2008 was to get all the suspension parts, and frame painted, and have a roller.
I painted all the parts in my shop with single stage urethane paint.
I slightly missed my self-imposed deadline, by a few days.
The cold made painting difficult, but everything came out nice.
The frame was color sanded and buffed, and it came out great.

Next: Brake lines, Engine and trans install, get the six Stombergs dialed in, get the car running.
After that it's on to, tackling the body. Bodywork my favorite:mad::mad::mad:
The body will get a base/clear coat finish, all shiny black of course.

Painted the headlight buckets and color sanded them also.

Hello DREADMAN, I enjoyed seeing pictures of your coupe, however it greatly disturbed me to see you operating a cutoff tool with NO eye protection whatsoever! Your eyes are not replaceable as you well know, and a cutoff tool has much potential to throw off 100 mph particals that
will embed themselves deeply in soft eye tissue. Not trying to bust your balls, just tyrying to remind you to protect youself. Your work looks nice
and very professional in quality, but being a true craftsman means using
    tools properly, including safety gear.
