All the cool cars and old iron in the scene where Ralphy beats up the bully.
At a glance I saw a hudson teraplane , model a sedan body and a roadster body.
Probably O/T but a fun movie with some cool cars.

It's the only Christmas movie I watch every year.......That was my life growing up in the 50's......I love that movie......And eventually, I got the rifle....

  3. I love this film - I can watch it all year...

"Only one thing in the world could've dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window"

"Some men are Baptists, others Catholics; my father was an Oldsmobile man."

Dude...one of my all time favorites. That fight scene, it seems that there is a Model A that is way too dissasembled for the time the film was set. I think it was set in 1940, at least that is what the decoder ring has on it.

The house in Cleveland were the movie was filmed is now open for tours. There was just an article in the local paper about it.

Man oh man, my all time favorite movie. I don't know how many times I've seen it, but I laugh my ass off every time. I love the part when the Bumpass' dogs scarf the turkey and the gang winds up at the Chinese restaurant for Christmas dinner. Damn, I'm laughing now just thinking about the hijinks that were employed to get Ralphie his Red Ryder BB gun.

I repeat, the best movie ever!!!

Greatest Christmas movie ever! We reserve watching it until it comes on for the 24 hours on Christmas eve and Christmas day. That movie plays all night and day.

Did anyone notice that the dad didn't have a name, he was just the 'Ol man.

Jean Shepard wrote the book that this is just one of many short stories from. He also narrated the movie. Get the book from the library and read some of the other stories... they will bring back memories and make you laugh your ass off.

24 hour marathon showing of it on TBS on Christmas day. Never gets old. The scene where Raplhie curses when they're chanigng the tire. Classic.

  22. And the school in St. Catharines where it was also filmed (the icy pole) is now a home for abused women.

Filmed (partly) in my home town... and I've never seen it.

I almost DID shoot my eye out... with a Red Ryder, no less!

I pumped it up like 50 times, and wondered if I used my bed for a prop if I could hit this doorknob across the hall. I took aim and fired. The BB indeed hit the doorknob, but to my horror it bounced back, hit the sight (but a few inches from my eye), and bounced off, hitting a window (and miraculously not shattering it). If it hadn't bounced off the sight, it would've gone squarely into my eyeball!

I freaked out, and didn't even touch it for a few years after that!
