These guys were quite active on the So-Cal BB/GS circuit 68-70 with this very car. It ran 2 different motors; a 334 inch Chrsyler for CC/GS and then a 396 Chevy for BB/GS as seen here.

Ah yes, the Big Bang! The death of the Front Engine Dragsters!

For the round money, who was he racing when this happened?

    You are correct, Sir!

He even ended up with an engine fire on that pass but there was no one around to help since everyone ran down to help Garlits and the wounded spectators!

  18. That is one of the neatest burn-out pictures I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing it.

Red Fox, you must'a been around the east coast back in the day. Jay Miner ran at Lebanon occasionally back then. Any pics of Fred Cain's cars, or Northeast Speed Equipments Mopars?

Another "Wild Bill", this one's last name was Rubin.
I'm getting what few old pics survived the movers scanned and should be able to get some up here in a week or so. I've got Cha-Cha with her first junior fueler, and Northest Speed at Lebanon. Bunches of others, still just a fraction of what was lost moving last year.

I'd say it was San Fernando. That hill in the background looks like that part of the valley. San Fernando was close to the hills--closer than Pomona, San Gabe, etc.
