Lockwoodcustoms has accurately identified your 'grille' which is generally referred to as a grille SHELL, and it does appear to be missing a portion of the bottom, likely hacked up by one of them dreaded HOT RODDERS....dang them and their sawzalls. dj
I have been wrong before, I think, but I really think if the bottom were on there you would recognize it as a '28-'29 standard auto grill shell.

I have seen a lot of commercial (truck) shells, and they all are straight across the top of the opening. Regardless, for $20 it's a steal. Just means you're going to have to channel whatever you're putting it on, and that's a GOOD thing. dj
I am 100% sure that it is a commercial grille shell from either 1930 or 31 Model A . I have had a few in the past. The commercial shell is straight across at the top like Propwash said. That is a 1931 Commercial truck grill, If you measure the thickness it should be apprax 4 1/4 inches where the radiator would reside not including the Weather strip flange. If its 4 1/4 its fron an AA truck If its 4 its from a Commercial A truck 1930 Commercial truck grills are painted stell but are a lil different & look more like a '30 Passenger car grill. '28-'29 Commercial grills look just like a Stainless Passenger Car grill but are painted steel
