No kidding, Rqacemad55! That is really cool.
Those pics of the old Buick gasser are awesome! Even the tri ifive chevy gassers are some of the best old time reference shots I've seen here. Good job Dog427435!

That day at the track it arrived on an open trailer. It needed crewmen on either side to lift it up as
they backed off for the pan to be able to clear the back bar of the trailer !

Thanks for posting this, guys. Jeff definitely deserves it - a real hot rod pioneer and all around great guy. I have more on Jeff - stay tuned - but this car was my favorite of his. They built it in a rented shop over the drug store on Balboa Island. Jeff still has the cowl...

What I like best is the close proximity of the seated fans to the edge of the track.

Dog427435, Loving these old pics from Long Islands 3 tracks. Lots from Islip & Westhampton and I see you've just posted some from NY National. I grew up at NYN, my mom & Dad worked there and Dad raced at all 3 of these tracks. Great memories. Thanks:cool:

It's about time I contribute a little to this thread...

Here's a bunch of pics that a friend of a friend found at the dump recently of all places. We're thinking they're from the Sanford Airport drags. Does anyone recognize any?

Check out the flag start 3-wide racing!!
