Still in HS. Got the '57 Buick and the '63 Buick. The '57 is still deep in progress right now, though. So I wouldn't call that a "ride." The '63 runs and stuff, but I don't have a title yet, so it's not inspected. So I haven't really had a ride yet. That kinda blows, but should be cruising in the '63 in a few weeks. I'm really looking forward to that. Hopefully everything goes according to plan.
'69 GTO with 'glass tilt front end ($550), '63 Tempest coupe ($200), '65 GTO convertible ($600) then senior year a nice '72 GTO 455HO M22($2,250). All those were real cheap back then in the mid 70s except for the '72. I had those cars before my 18th birthday, still have the '69 and a '72 just like my first one. Hasn't this been up before?? As you cant drive until 18 here in Oz I had finished school before I was able to drive. Had a killer push bike though, De Berneti Columbus frame, Shimano 105 running gear (Back when it was the best you could get) Velocity Aerotech wheels, $5,000 bike! I raced for a local road team in Bayswater (City Cycles) Bike was put together by sponsors, then I got hit by a car and totaled it.... Bugger. Doc.
This was mine. I graduated in 1961 and had this Ford in 1960. And yesterday I turned 65 years old. I can't friggin' believe it yet.
57 desoto hardtop with a 341 firedome hemi (2-bbl). Had some cool looking wire-wheel hubcaps. I got the car for working on a farm all summer in 1969. It was Turqoise and white roof. A chick magnet for sure because they couldn't get grease on their dress. Whatever happened to school dress codes that required women to wear dresses...
lucky me! I got to drive the wagon a bit, but also the pickup, and we swapped a 396 into the truck when I was a senior. still have the truck.
Back in the early 90s i rolled a 79 'bitchin camino' and a 77 fj40 landcruiser...... I destroyed the camino, and the fj40 turned into a pile of rust before my eyes.

1956 Chevy 2dr ht, 1958 Chevy Fleetside, 1967 Chevelle, 1977 Corvette. Damn, no wonder my parent's are poor.
I had a black '54 Ford with a 292/3 on the tree, twice pipes w/ glass packs, dechromed, heated springs in front, black steelies w/wide whites, black tuck & roll interior. Traded it off for a cherry '54 Bel Aire that was turquise and white, lowered 4" all the way around, chrome wheels w/buttons. Basically stock inside and out. Wish that I still had them both...............
Started with a '50 Studebaker Commander 4 door, moved on to a '52 Ford three seat station wagon and then into my first street racer, a gutted gasser style '50 Chevy coupe, it was mostly stock, but light and quick in the stoplight drags. Graduated in '64 and as my wife likes to say, finally got the car of my high school dreams several years back when I got the '64 Dodge that is my avatar.

51 Merc coupe that I bought when I was 16 and had for 32 years until it's present owner made an offer that caught me at "one of those times". It sat for a while during my senior year because of a blown up engine and I drove a Nash Metropolitan Convert. Could have had a 55 Chev hardtop for the same price as that Metro ragtop at the time too. Those were the days when you could buy a 55 Chev two door off a car lot for 395.00 and it was a nice running good driving car.
Mine was a 57 Chrysler with 30,000 miles and a big HEMI. I paid $300 for it since it was an OLD car- just over 10 years old. Had lots of fun with it. The first picture is what my car looked like. These next pics are not mine, but will show you what mine looked like from other angles if you imagine the cars painted bright white... The spoiled kids with the new 69 Camaros, Chargers, and Mustangs would avoid having a run-in with me because kids were telling everyone I had a Hemi. It was a very smooth and strong luxury torquer, but it scared people anyway. The next year I bought a near-new 1968 Chevelle with 14,000 miles on it, and a bright red 1963 Impala Super Sport with buckets and floor shifter. The girls loved those "cooler" cars compared to the older Chrysler, but I quickly decided I wanted the Hemi back. Oh yeah, for what it's worth- my high school job was working at the local drive-in movie theater, and running a newspaper vending machine route. Hows that for sounding like an old-timer cliche?

1980 A 57 chevy 2dr hardtop 283 red metallic paint cragar ss and nobody had a car like that in my high school . Its funny the girls all thought the car was ugly but they also wanted a ride in it . People still remember me by that car 20+ YEARS LATER .
In 1960 I had a 54 Plymouth flat six with 3 singles and split duals. My parents had a 58 ford fairlane 2dr. 292 3spd.
