New from Arizona. Have two front engined dragsters. One I run in Junior Fuel A, The other in Top Dragster. Also recently purchased Green Monster #5 with the Allison. Am working with NHRA oldtimers on its history. The car is in great shape for all of the years in storage. Recent pic is in my album.

  2. This post is worthless without pics or translated - The greater HAMB politely asks for pics from the FNG fatdad.

YOUR very FIRST assignment, FatDad, from the HAMB faithful, is to go shoot pictures of the "Green Monster" and post them here...there's a bunch of "youngsters" that have no idea what is, and/or prolly have never seen the "Green Monster."

Congrats on your purchase...and welcome to the HAMB...

The car started out with an Ranger aircraft engine, but the Arfons brothers thought it was weak onpower. They then installed this Allison 1710-85 which was designed for use in a P-39 Aircobra. The car also ran with dual slicks. Google "American Jet Cars" and you will see a history of the Arfons cars starting with the origional piston aircraft editions.
