I just got A 37 business coupe, and I'm torn on how to build it. slam it in the front and hot rod it, or slam it in the rear and tail drag it. it has a 350-350 I kinda like the hot rodded look, but have never seen a 37 customized that I really liked, anyone got pics.

Looks like a pretty nice coupe - looks OK as is to me but your call. Maybe drive it as is for a while and ideas will come?

Don't "Snugglers" have rules about how the car should look? ;)

The Avitar is reminding me of a young "Mr. Furley" from "Three's Company".

  5. Thats the first car I remember my Dad having, during the "Good War" ,,,us'ta ride up on the package shelf,,,,,as for now,,,,IT looks good just like it is,,,,,

I have never seen a good looking customized 37 of any body style, so i'd leave it like it is, but see if you can borrow some mounted wide whites & see what it looks like.Have fun what ever you do.

Here's one.....I don't remember where I found the picture, but I dig this car......

....Lengthening the rear fenders, and the hard-top chop change everything.....I think it was a real good idea to lose the rear quarter windows.....there aren't many custom 37's, so this makes it even more special in my way of thinking.....the easy way out would be bigs and littles and drive it away......still a cool car, but the same as the rest....I sold mine a couple of years ago before I saw these pictures.....I wish I could have another crack at it now that I've got some ideas......

I always wanted to turn a '37 coupe into a three window version. I know there is a company making them out of gl***, but, I don't believe in driving gl***.

    Just my humble opinion, though.

I came close to installing skirts. 37's look good with skirts, I think it gives a 40's hollywood theme.
This is after a repaint last winter.

And this was done about ten years ago....

Just for grins, what makes this a 37 Ford BUSINESS Coupe?
In 1937 Ford built 3 coupes:
    770-A Standard 5-window Coupe
    770-B DeLuxe 5-window Coupe
    720 Club Coupe

Actually Ford used the Business Coupe only in 1928-29 and 1940.
The 28-29 Business Coupes were Leatherback Coupes, 29 had oval quarter windows.
40s, available as Standard or DeLuxe, had auxiliary seats which which folded down from each side behind the split back main seat.

Regardless, you do have a nice little car there so be careful what you're doing and make it yours in the best way.

Needs a 40's era paintjob, skirts, the hood sides re-installed, and lower the ***, and of co**** wheels...dont see many survivor 40's custom 37's ,would be cool to see it as itr originally was!!

    Not a '37, but close... my '36.

    Here's a '37 we are building for a customer.

After seeing my coupe, it shouldn't be any real surprise that PeteJoe's coupe is probably my favorite '37 out there. It was cool before, but with the recent changes... stunning.

Also look at Ryan's '38 and Fab32/Harrison '38. More perfection to aspire to.

As it is, looks better than 90 percent of the chopped anythings. Keep it, put big and littles (bias) on it and drive it.

It has dawned on me that body side trim is con****ously absent on the 37 Coupes pictured in this thread. Didn't the 37s come stock with side trim like the 40 coupes did? If they did come with it, is it standard rodder procedure to remove it?

I think I saw an in-progress, unpainted, '37 coupe at a car show in Jerome Idaho this past summer (on the way to Speed Week at Bonneville) with side trim holes having recently been welded up. I've been wondering about why they did that ever since.

'37s had no side trim. '38s did though.

  30. Paint it, drive it, enjoy it. I prefer the stock colors with stock upholstry. Leave it stock height.
