I thought I would show you some pictures of my son-n-law chads project. that we built in my garage in just over 1 1/2 years. it is his first build and the design, welding, and mechanical skills. that he showed makes me want to build another one with him. in a short story it is a 38 dodge truck cab, hood, and grille. 38 ford sedan frame, 51 buick dash, w/ original guages, column, and steering wheel. and a 56 chrysler new yorker complete rear clip all molded together to make the yorkster. OH YEA I forgot a 56 chrysler 354 hemi w/ twin four barrels to make it move...hope you like it...ghost
you and Chad should be proud. not just anyone can pull off something that cool with what you started with. can't wait to see it with a blower and some "shiny" paint
The "****ster" likes the yorkster. Somebody is going to have fun with that statement. Ok Breeder, let's hear it.
Hey Ghost, Here is my favorite pic when we cruised Golden ColoRODo. maybe someone could photo shop the pole out of it. Thanks, Roach
Yea mine too... that pic says it all. even with the pole in it wish we could have gotten there sooner for more light...ghost
Actually ghost, what I meant by that was that my first name is **** and my last name is York. Just sounds a bit corny when you put them together "the ****steryorkster".
Looks very good. Your 6th pic where the tail lights are out reminds me of a British Triumph Herald or Singer Vogue.
Very cool! Interesting grille. I had what I was told was a 37 or 38 Dodge Bros. truck many years ago, but I think mine had a couple of extra vertical chrome bars in the middle area -- and I didn't have those indigo/blue/purple bars flanking the middle bars. Anyway, very sweet looking build. Thanks for posting!
Yea...I thought the names were kinda unique also. just wanted to beat breeder to the punch on making a comment about them. hope I did not offend ya. but there are all kinds of name combinations you could come up with. thanks for looking...ghost
The grille is a 38 truck we just shaved off the sides where the fenders would bolt. I think it gave it more of a track style look. if you can do that with a truck grille? Indigo / blue / purple bars, not sure what you meant there. must be the light cause it is all black satin paint. thanks for looking...ghost
The "hybrid" stuff that comes out like the yorkster build is my favorite kind of eye/brain candy. Nice job.
So you're going to build another one huh...I've got a name for it already "She liked it when I Yorkster... so I Yorkster again..."
YA... big time fun... that is why I want to do another one maybe this time with a chevy theme. Yea I know not another chevy theme. but I was thinking of doing a 57 chevy roadster old chevy truck cab, hood, grille, with a big block chevy, lots of carbs. black and white styled after the black widow nascar even with the fuel injection emblems on the upper rear quarters all open wheeled like the yorkster... what do you guys think...ghost (MAYBE AFTER THAT ONE A FORD THEME)
IF I told you what I think, this thread would go ten pages at least, and you wouldn't get a word in edgewise...but to keep it short and sweet, finish that '28 delivery, drive it to the HAMB drags, along with the Yorkster and THEN consider your next build...!!! C ya Friday, R-
That was at KKOA this year was it not!! Man I was all over that cool ride!! You guys did a great job on it every time I looked at it down at KKOA I found something new on it... -COS
Yea.. that was the first time we had it out. at 11:00 pm putting the widshield in it. so we could leave the next morning for salina. we even did the eighth mile twice when we got there. and had a blast. that is a good show...ghost
You know I always value your input. I got all your books in my collection, And yea the 28 will get done before I start on anything else. Just gathering parts right now. And yea planning on the hamb drags is on the schedule. For sure with the yorkster but the 28 still got a ways to go...ghost
