The picture right after Linda shows Herm Peterson getting trounced by Kansas John Weibe. Story goes that Kansas John had the new Donovan motor (aluminum 417) in an old-style ch***is and Herm had the new-style ch***is with the old 392. On Monday morning Herm was on the phone to Ed Donovan ordering some of those new 417 motors.

The rear of Rich Guasco's Pure Hell funny car shows some repairs. The day before, he backed up too much and crunched it into the wall.

The late Steve Carbone was looking good with his smokey burnout, but I believe Large Father put him on the trailer.

VV What happened here??!! VV That was Sush Matsubara in the Pisano and Matsubara Vega funny car (733 0n the side of the car) trying the shoulder. In an earlier picture he is shown going off against Tom Hoover. Hoover was driving the White Bear Dodge funny car and seriously smoking the tires.
