I'll see what I can do about getting pics of the fellas opening them. As far as shipping goes, all our birds are tasked, so I will mail them personally. Not a big deal. I got the green light to raid the snack bar funds to pay for it! They WILL be there by 25DEC08.

Ebert, the MFS Videos are here. We're going to box things up tomorrow night (at Adult Beverage Night), since it'll be easier for folks to get here than during the day on Friday. So, anyone that want's to help, stop by!

We got these cool cards made by Alphagraphics by Django's office. We'll put one of them in each package:

Yeah, big thanks to Alphagraphics for printing my design for us. I'm not the greatest pinstriper, but I think I did well enough to get the point accross. :D

Ok, now it's time to get them to the troops!

For those that would like to help transport the boxes down to the American Legion Hall on Saturday (the 6th of December), we're meeting at the Princeton Pancake House on North Ave. just across from Wildfire Harley Davidson at 9am SHARP.

    Here's the address:

    Princeton Pancake House
    31 W North Ave
    Villa Park, IL 60181
    (630) 834-0411

    9am meet time.

We could use any help we can get, as they aren't all going to fit in the back seat of my R/T. We have to leave the boxes open so we can fill out customs slips when we get to the American Legion Hall, so enclosed vehicles will be great. We'll also need help for about an hour to fill out the customs slips. Remember, "Many Hands Make Light Work!"

AnyMarine.com is a good place to go for what everyone is doing.
You can send some things to me if you like and I will make sure that the troops out here get them. I brought out a copy of The Rodders Journal and a few Rod&Customs I had laying around the house. I put them out in my Company office and they were ******ed up fast. So I know there are a few hotrodders out here. I know there are a few H.A.M.B. members because I will see that someone has been to the site on a few of the computer. Hey maybe I can a get a H.A.M.B. meet and greet out here or I can get the Marines together for a photo op and send them back to everyone that helped out or post them up.

I have photographs, but I can't figure out how to get them off the camera at home. I may have to do it tomorrow at work.

Joanne (at the Americn Legion) was really cool. The guys unloaded Tiger Marks truck, and she said, "oh thank you so much. I can't believe how much you boys collected." And I said, "You're welcome. And, uh, we have three more vehicles to unload." To that she replied, "You're kidding." We told her that next year (and I hope the troops are home by then, but if not) our goal was going to be to fill Eberts 28 foot car trailer to the roof. :D

It'll be a little less spur of the moment next time too. I'll make sure I get Christmas cards to all the drop off points early, and give everyone more time to pick something up to donate or time to ship it to a drop off point.

I'd like to personally thank everyone who donated stuff or their time. In the Detroit area kudos goes to Safari-Wagon and his family for dropping off a huge box of stuff AND my mother who collected stuff from all kinds of business in the area. (eye drops from the eye doctor, dental floss from the dentist, wipes from Outback Steakhouse, etc) My mom's pretty clever sometimes. Anyway, thanks to all, and next year I hope the GMB's can participate more with alittle more notice.

Thanks again for putting everything together. I hope as a group we continue to support the troops that have been a part of Operation Christmas HAMB into the new year. I plan to at least.

Anybody know when the goodies will get to the Troops? I ***ume that they're gonna wait for the 25th to distribute them, but I'm just curious about how long it takes to go thru the US Gov't mail system.

Is Washington still making them use real ponies to deliver the mail???

I was told by the American Legion that they should get everything by Christmas. I know that Slepe67 sent the stuff for the Special Operations troops out earlier. Any news Slepe?
