Hi , I'm looking for a pic of an all original firewall where no extra holes are drilled. I have one with many extra holes and want to know which ones i have to weld up. I don't want a smooth one so i like to keep the original ones. TIA Michael
Get the repro book of '32 Ford service bulletins--excellent pics. Also, buy Bob Drake grommet kit...shows what goes where B and V8, every hole detailed.
Except for the three holes over by the data plate this one appears fairly unmolested. Now, I'm just guessing on those holes, i have no firsthand knowledge of '32 firewalls.
Mine does not have the 2 big holes below and to the right of the patent data plate next to the stiffening rib.
Here's mine. Obviously the big hacked out one shouldn't be there, and the two either side of the hacked one. Note sure about the one at the 5 o clock position to the big one, though. Mart
The one at 5 o'clock is the 4 cyl gas pedal linkage mount. The other pictures have V8 gas pedal linkage. The firewalls that I have are all punched with the 4 cyl and the V8 holes. So an unmolested firewall will have extra unused holes from the factory. The inside insulator covered the unused holes that were not used with the engine that was installed at the factory. You can easily see the 4 holes in the crescent shape that was for a 4 cyl piece on both of the above V8 firewalls.
