So as a Californian, Jigger, how do you feel about Nebraska now...??? I put up with that **** for 17 years of my life ( born and raised in Iowa)...and then I moved to ColoRODo...it was 19 below here on Monday morn...and the snow is still on the ground...but it goes away reasonably fast...it's the 40 inchers we really have to worry about tho. R-
It's so far up in the hills where most of my cars are, the snow from an October nor'easter is still on the ground - mostly as a layer of ice. At least the neighbor has a big-*** Farmall tractor with an enclosed cab, chains, and a big snowblower on the back.
Same as always...got up when my eyes opened, then went back to sleep agin, mulled around waiting for the coffee, looked outside to see if I want to go anywhere today, drank my coffee, checked emails, watched Sanford & Son, piddled around with my websites, made few calls, ate lunch, watched Tom & Jerry, took a nap... It's 2:30 right now so I'll see how the rest of it goes. Yep, that's pretty much how it is...no alarm clock, no responsibilities, no brains, no idea! Mikey Expert on "The Joy Of Irresponsibility" www.MikeysPinstriping.com www.HotRodConsulting.com "You know you're a Hot Rodder when you and the wifey are fooling around and she tells you to hurry up and get a 'rubber', so you jump up run out to the garage and grab a whitewall tire." Ya'lls invited to "Mikeys Pinstriping & Carmedy Show", coming to a car show somewhere in Texas '09.
I'm actually a Nebraska native. My kids, all 4 of whom were born during my 13 year internment in the Sunshine State (or is that Florida?) ...well, anyway,... they're the real Californians. You'd think they'd remind me of that more often then they do but, no. That'll change around the end of February. I've been back over 7 years now and have more than reacquainted and readapted myself to these conditions. I do miss being able to drive my convertible top down, year round tho. Least I be misunderstood as to not enjoy this inclement climate; nothing could be further from the truth. This stuff builds mounds of character in those so-mentioned young'uns. Of course that'll, likely, change around the end of February, too. That's when I'm likely to find out just how full of character these cooped up kids really are.
yech. Y'all can have all of that stuff You want. Here in Austin, if it snows, we stay home until it melts off. (usually about the next day.) Freezing precipitation (in any of it's forms) is for the birds. Hell, it's 50 today, and that's just at the threshold of "too damn cold to function normally" for me.
By tomorrow it should just look like a big snow bump,........ I went to my clubs Christmas party last night in Liviona Mi. while at the party it started snowing like mad, when I left traffic on 275 was moving at between 15 to 30 MPH,... those little SUV were doing "Peggy Flemmings" down the express way,... I was driving a short wheel base rear wheel drive Ranger P.U. with no weight in the back and all season tires,.... I ended staying down there last night instead of driving the 150 miles back home,..... MERRY CHRISTMAS !
.........much better today, it warmed up a lot here. Yesterday was a booger. Zero. I put on my long-handles, four layers, t-shire, long-shirt, sweater, vest, jacket, bunny boots with woolies, headed for the garage. Beer time came, popped a top. Sat it down and put some tools away, went to get a swig and beer was congealed in the bottle! Had to thaw it out with a heat lamp.
I knew that, I 'd read it somewhere previous, but thot I'd ask how you liked it now. They tell you that or is that from observation...??? When I lived in Iowa, spring didn't come around til at least late April...so is the mid state region thawing out sooner than the rest of Nebraska...??? OR will they be completely fed up with 'inside' and/or 'it's hard to go out in this stuff' by then...??? R-
been pouring here today...my shop is divided into our screenprinting shop and an area for my cars and of course my buddies to hang out...just reorganized the "lounge" area and found a new roof leak...right where my stash of magazines is...ruined about 60 of them...bummer...luckily I keep my Rodders Journals and my little mags in the office where, knock on wood, no leaks yet...
I think I saw Al at Viva Las Vegas sitting on a tailgate doing that...thank God he invented the internet or there would be no HAMB!
we had snow yesterday roads were slick but i still drove the 55. we are supose to get hit even harder tomorrow. i might be driving the durango instead ...
Yeah, but if it were 114 for a week, You would be in the hospital, and I would be wondering when it was gonna get hot....
Fed up in February, knowing they've got 'til May before they thaw. The sun does peak out in April, it just takes a month to thaw. Then we get them twisters come through. Yee-Haw! Malcom! We're not moving. As far as I know.
I almost thought about putting on a beanie cap and a sweatshirt, but realised if I did, I would be sweating soon and have to take it back off. Whew, close call.
It was a bone chilling 67 in Tucson today. I got luke-warm bite on my toes. Love that drawing Jigger. -Lemorris
Well my day went the same. Got up, got ready, went to school, came home, and did homework. But at about 6 pm I was planning to go to a friends house about a mile away to test out some three wheelers to get the right size for me so I can look for one. I went with my parents and Buckle. After looking at one, we went out side and Buckle pulled the tarp off of one. It was a Honda Big Red. I sat down and said I really liked it. The guy whos house it was said to my parents that they didn't have to make a decison right away. Then he goes 1-2-3 and all four of them yell "Merry Christmas". And that's when I figured out that the three wheeler was an early Christmas present for me. Thanks to my parents for getting it for me, thanks to Buckle for going and picking it up, and thanks to Keith for storing it. It was a GREAT day overall. We are supposed to have a huge storm Thursday night into Friday so I will be out riding on trails having fun over Christmas break.
Well,,finding out my car may be 1 of 12 or 1 of 1 ,,lol,,it snowed yesterday and it looked really nice out but now everything just slop,,,and missing about 3 days sleep
HAHAHA. Maybe but I think I would handle the 114 better than you would the near minus 60 weather we will probably get in January
