You know it was probably not even twenty seconds after the caveman that invented the wheel figured out fire to light the ****er up. Nothing new here.

I'm pretty sure sure that Bob Metz from good old Shelbyville Indiana built at least one car with light up tires too. In fact, I thought it WAS the Golden Sahara? Lots of neat stuff came out of that shop and I'm 99% sure that is one of the pictures he showed me. Now I gotta find it...

That had to be him. He put double fins on lots of stuff. I know Bob has p***ed about ten years ago but there were still a few cars over there the last time I went by the shop. Is Troy on the board here?

Sure. You need a trip to Indy anyway!
Lots of good folks and things to do here. I never get to do them anymore but that doesn't mean that you can't!
You gotta go hang out with the crew at Bubba's or you won't be getting the whole Indy experience.

Tires look like they need a dimmer switch.

Im relying on a not too good memory hear but im pretty sure either Rodders Journal or Custom Rodder had a feature story on the two not all that long ago. Im thinking Rodders Journal. The author was Spence Murray and he went to talk to the owner and if I remember right they got into a heated discussion about the owner hiding them away. There was a couple pics in the story. Anybody else remember this or is my 'check liver' light flashing?

Worthless trivia: According to the youtube video the car was 75,000 dollars in 1962 to build. According to a couple of inflation calculators I've found online that would be roughly $530,000.00 in 2009,

To put that in perspective a Ford Galaxie 500 XL was about $3350.00 in 1962.[SIZE=+1]

I saw the Golden Sahara and Kookies Car at Harry's Cadillac in Asheville N.C. in 1965.Until I read this post I did not remember the year.As I think back about it now I remember the Cadillacs were new on the showroom floor. I bought both of the pictures lost the one of kookies car. Still have the one of the Golden Sahara. I al;so Remember seeing the Car in The Jerry Lewis Comedy Cinderfella right around that same time. It was on TCM or HBO the other night. Just wondering if there are any updates on where it is now and its condition? Since the Batmobile brought in so much cash will the GS be brought out and sold off or is it a Total Ruin now?...I want to know because this Car is an icon of my childhood and memory of times with my dad.I 'd like to see it again.
