I finally broke down and painted my '27 T roadster, spray can of course, and..... some bomber seats, aluminum interior panels, seatbelts, new carpet, radio, new Stones all around with '41 wheels, (black, beauty rings, no hubacps) front brake scoops, Baby Deuce headlights, some new stainless headlight stands, a stainless front frame crossbar, a little pinstripe, four aces graphics, an aluminum trunk lid liner, insulation.... now I'm really tired! Take a look. pigpen

I found that if you put the "Almost Chrome" powder on your hot exaust manifolds with a brush, it just melts right on, even over rust!

    Neckin' music, motor turned :Doff.

I did a 51 chevy when I was a kid of 20 with rattlecan blue close to that shade. A forgiving color it was. Yours looks better tho..............

That's right! Neckin' music. I'm a musician.. give me a break! The solid plug wires make for an interesting sound when the motor is running. We used to get that sound on the TV, back in the day, when a rod drove by the house.
As for the spray paint. All Duplicolor truck paint is acrylic lacquer, the most forgiving paint ever. My color is T100 black, about 25 to 30 cans. Cut and buff, cut and buff, re-shoot, cut and buff, 2000 grit, buff more, touch up with black nail polish! Then do it over where you screwed up.:D pigpen

(Buff with Mirror Glaze swirl remover, use the Mirror Glaze show car glaze, finish with the High Tech Yellow Wax.)

    Looks good!

Me and MBL rattle canned his '26 T roadster...It came out cool as well!

  14. Not bad looking at all, but the radio has to go in the trunk or use an Ipod. Hot rods dont need shit like that cluttering up the interior.

Texas law. They also made me put those reflectors on the rear to pass inspection and I had to black out the blue dots also. I also have a bar that goes accross the windshield posts that has a manual wiper mounted for the State inspection. They wouldn't buy the fact that a wiper on a roadster was optional in '27. Sometimes I think about moving back to California or Oregon, but then I remember Arnold and all of his taxes and rules and BS. pigpen

    Pigpen,
Your car has been one of my very favorite cars for years! Aperfect example of the way a car would have been built by the average hotrodder in the late 40's-50's. Looks even better now!

Would like to see better pics of the seats and details as to what they are, where they came from, ect.

There's a paint job that shows how to do something to the best of your ability, with what you have available to you ( what you can afford ). Great Job! No short cut there!

Front tires are Firestone 500/16 ribbed dirt track tires, on 4" wide '41 Ford rims. I got an alliance discount from Coker on these. :D

Rears are Firestone Destination LE, P245/70 R16's on 7" wide repro gennie rims. I turned the white letters inboard and blacked them out.

Maybe as many as fifty, if you count the previous green primer job, no clear though, just straight black lacquer. The firewall and the wheels got the Engine high temp stuff, which is acrylic enamel. It glosses out nice without buffing. pigpen
