How would you know if it belongs on here or not? I'm just curious, being a newbie and all, just like you. Of course, I lurked on here for about a year before I joined, but what do I know?

Oh, that's right, I remember now: If you don't like it, don't buy it. People come on here for ideas and inspiration. So far I haven't seen any ideas or inspirations from you. I'm here to learn, why are you here?

  11. Wow, 17 posts and you already speak for the moderators...

baldguy, why don't you let your wives calm you down and get back to us later.

Skotty- keep up the good work! There's a new car museum by the airport in Philly that has an American Underslung in it's display if you want to check one out- they're great cars.

Hit the wrong key, as I was saying I've seen some of the best in the country and even worked for a few, they all try new stuff to stretch the definition of traditional.

  16. looks like "blah, blah" got his post wiped...

In all honesty, you might seriously want to exercize a little restraint and tact, rather than jumping in so quickly with guns blazing-

  19. Not to steal the thread, but PBS did a program not too long ago on the development of the lobotomy and the doctor who made them famous- got to the point (no pun intended) where he was traveling from town to town using an ice pick and a hammer through the eye socket...

Wow. As a fellow fng, I guess that I missed the election where we decided to let you speak for everyone on the site...

As a fellow early Chevy owner (original 28 Landau Coupe and 29 roadster project), I have really enjoyed keeping up with this build. Looks cool to me!

i have news for you. If it wasnt for the HAMB this car would never be where it is today and would never have been built. In my short time here i learned a great deal and met some good people that have helped me get this car in the right direction. This is by far the best, and most knowledgable group of hot rodders on the net. I would like to thank every one for their support and wish you all a safe and happy holiday.

Very classy response. I commend you for your mature and cool-headed answer. Keep the build write up coming. I think the underslung is a neat and different idea and I look forward to seeing more of it.

I have a question about the rear bag set-up. With the air bag mounted that far forward on the link, doesn't it lose quite a bit of leverage and require an excessive amount of air pressure to raise the rear? This in turn would kill the ride. I ask because I don't know. Anyone?:(

the way i have the rear set up actually rides better. the ratio is 1.5:1. meaning that for every 1 inch the bag lifts the frame lifts 1.5 inches. the bags are rated at 2600 lbs each and to place them over the axle would give you a very bad ride. even with a full tank of gas. there is actually more leverage on the bag which causes a softer ride. it should be more comfortable than a caddy.
