We just did it here. It's actually not that complicated of a mechanism. The only thing that ****s is it takes a special bracket and shift arm on the transmission. I was able to modify a normal 200-4R shift arm and use the normal bracket.
WOW that is an A++++ build right there, Id comment on something paticular but the whole thing is impressive. Very Nice. Im not worthy.
Ryan is one lucky kid to have his dad do that for him.Thats going to be on hell of a Christmas for him. Your shop has dome some amazing work on that ch***is.That is some top notch work on the whole car. Keep us updated.
Love those headers! I wish my dad was that cool when I was 16. Consider yourself very lucky Ryan, and good luck with your car.
WOW! I just got that I had way too much coffee! Feeling when I started looking at this thread. I take a lot of pride in my work, I love seeing the same treatment. I really love the dash, fits perfect! I hope you get your wish on the guages.
Ryan is a lucky kid! I was fortunate eneough for my dad wanting to do a father son build on his second car he ever owned,a 36 Ford 2 door sedan, ( he wrecked the first one ) and still had in my grandmothers garage. It straightened my life around and got me off the path of self destruction I was on. We still have it 27 years later and have never have finished it. I also still have my second car ,a 36 Ford 4 door sedan that I got in high school just after we started working on his. I have built several cars since those days and keep telling myself I need to finish his while he is still alive to see it and enjoy it. Without his pushing me , I wouldn't have ac***ulated the collection of cars I have and desire to be involved in this great hobby. It is a neat project to see that you have been able to build for them. Awesome workmanship throughout. Dave
Thanks for all the kind words everybody. Remember, it's not just me working on this car, our whole shop is. I'll let the guys know you guys like their work.
Wow....Thanks for taking the time to post all of that info. I love that rear axle set up keep the progress pics coming please.
Wow- that's some inspiring fab work!!! A few questions; -How much did you chop the roof? -What seats will you be using? -When making the headers, did you use donuts with different radii? Thanks in advance, -Gary
Kevin, excellent build and great story to go with the car! It's great to see hometown favorites putting out such excellent workmanship and ideas. Congrats to the whole HRC&C staff. I'll see ya's on the 8th. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year! Joel
Thanks Gary. We chopped it 5". The seats are boat/bar stool style. They look great. Yes, there are about 4 different radii in the headers. I think that or maybe 5 or 6 different radii are what I've used in most of mine. They give a greater choice for path and end point when you have several to choose from.
Incredible! Thanks for posting the build. Everyone will learn from this thread, weather they admit it or not. Every time I see and read a thread with pictures like this, they move the mark a little higher. I'll never be as good as you guys are. BUT after reading this, I'll be better than I thought it was possible for me to be. Ignore all of the negative comments. This needs to be here! Thanks for the inspiration. Lucky667 Hell, HAMB is a FREE correspondence course on how to build a Hot Rod.
I myself would consider it "retro-traditional" but thats my opinion, the worksmanship is awsome, just not my cup of tea but very very nice. jeff
Oh yes! The bar gets set a little higher all the time. Tman, thanks for the kind words. Ray Gun, THANKS! This place is incredible! All of the FREE information. FREE school. FREE lessons. FREE ideas. Thanks a MILLION! Lucky667
Off the charts man!! This is what the HAMB is all about, the build is awesome! Please keep the info and pics coming because I feel it inspires all of us, that is why we are here!!!!!
The mounts look fine to me. I used a similar setup on a 800Hp all out drag race deal and they worked fine. HotRodCh***is keep up the good work!
Yeah. People usually flip their lids when they look at a funny car and see the motor held in with four stainless band clamps.
