Without a doubt, my favorite on the thread. Sometimes less is more.

  5. The above quote is from 12 - 11 - 2007, when I originally replied to this thread.

Things have changed a little since I took that picture. The six and powerglide are in the hands of another HAMBer. Now it's sporting a full roller small block with 2X4's and fenderwell headers. I've converted it to a five speed too. I'm in the final stages of getting the new wiring harness installed. I can't wait to fire this up and take it for a spin.

I'm just helping the original owner get his car running again and snapped these pics while we had the car cover off. Currently working on the top end of the engine. It's a mess but I'm sure it'll buff right out. :D

Here's ours. Father and son project. It's been sitting in a heated garage since 1972 when we found it last year. Unloaded it from the trailer and in the mancave she went for a frame up resto/hotrod build up.

  15. Here is one that im playing with right now...got rust in weird places, pin holes and stuff.

It still has the original 235 inline 6...rebuilt. 3-speed on column.

Anyone got a set of front fender spears and the paint divider for the rear?

I would love to have a 55 Chevy Vert.

  20. That picture was taken after the car sat on jack stands for over a month. It settled down another inch or two after that picture.

To answer your question: Nope, I can't lower it. The Sanderson headers don't fit for sh*t , so I need to raise the front end to make room for the headers. I had expected to run larger front tires too, but again... header issues.

Never thought I'd own a Tri-5 but the car was in good shape and the price was right. I kind of like that its a moredoor. No stress about condition, just drive the damn thing. This spring the tired 305 comes out and a mild tree-fitty goes in.

This pic taken before it was lowered. Sits about 2-3 inches lower now. I didn't like the cragars on it.

Hahahahaha...love the "belly button" shot...that's how I feel about '32 Fords & Model A's...to each his own I guess...can't believe I missed this thread.

Here's a shot of my "street gasser" in 1967...that was about the same time I owned 30 (yeah, you read it right-thirty) 1957 Chevies all at the same time...various models except a Nomad and a convert.

I still have one 1957 Chevy...and sold the second to last '57 I owned in 2001...it went to Iowa.

I purchased my first '57 150 tudor in 1960...and have never been without at least one in my life...prolly the most fun car I've owned, even IF everyone else in the world has one exactly like it.

VonMerkin: get the seller to add a bumper or anything else you want from the states. Have them put it on the car and you won't have to pay duty taxes or another shipping charge.
