And you couldn't buy an ash try off one of these cars. They will be for sale when the owner dies, but he has a few years in him yet.

What do you suppose the use is for the thing bolted to the fender on the cadilliac.

Very cool pics, can't wait for more! The guy definately has a thing for BIG GM cars. Dig the 'lumber rack' on the pass. side of the green mid '50's Caddy...

  8. The thing bolted to the caddy could be a lumber carrier

Yes. As a teenager used to work for John E. Mitchell Company that made aftermarket MarkIV auto air conditioners. Saw some of these back in the 1960's and some had transparent tubular plastic vents that passed through the rear package tray and exhausted behind the rear seat. These were high performance air conditioners.

If you'll look closer, you'll see that it's been made into a pickup...look thru the windshield...

Sorry I didn't want to offend anyone. I just thought everybody loves old car like I do. I don't care if there not for sale. With permission I spent about 3 hrs. walking around and took about 70 pictures.

Very nice! It also looks like the guy has a sweet spot for old International trucks. He can't be all bad.

I love seeing this! Thank you for posting the pictures.

If I had the means to stock-pile old cars, I would do the same. :)

  23. I love old cars... which is why I hate to see them rotting away.

Like Plowboy said on the other thread, walking an old junk yard is cooler than walking a car show any day. I do live in the rustbelt, so I know how scarce old cars are.

This guy had another place on the edge of town and wouldn't sell anything and the city got some lawsuite and hauled everything away to the crusher. I was told about that by one of the towing co. employees and they couldn't sell anthing either. It all had to be crushed. This place is on his farm and he won't sell anything. But it damn fun to look at.

Sure, he can. He's not fixing them up, he's not selling them out of the yard. he just has them and they're going to sit and rot. They're his and he can do what he wants with them, but he's not better than that old guy with one car who won't sell them because he's going to fix it up someday.
