Matt Seret (Seret Speed & Custom in Vallejo, CA - Seret on the HAMB) and I are making some more progress on the Legion Special. It may not look like much to the layman, but the metal shapers (and fans of shapers) out there can appreciate what is coming together.

It still may not look like much, but we are getting pretty stoked!

    The sketch is getting dirtier.

The new frame gets a front crossmember.

One more trim and it's time for another mockup.

    MATT, SMASH!

While Matt did the hard stuff, I started on the body top rails. Started on the bender...

    Stitching it together.

The rear kick. The idea is a "real" early hot rod stance. No ass-end-too-low rat rod crap!

The rear crossmember will attach and detach sort of like a trailer hitch, but bolt in way more solid. [IMG]

Starting on the inserts for the rear crossmember.

    Simply the best!

Matt starts to rule the scratch-built dashrail.

My first try at TIG. Anyone want to buy a MIG? Not pretty, but it will work.

  5. Is that a single seater??? I like it.
Is Matt doing all the work:D

    Yep! Single seater.

    It's like Shake'n'Bake....I hailped!

I'm working on the chassis and heavier duty stuff. I'll leave the shaping to the master.

It's a Chevy 194 with three Webers. All finned Offy stuff. I want something that will look sort of like an old Indy car engine.

The old project. We stole the running gear and suspension etc. from it. [IMG]

    A crappy color version...

Kirk, I got to ask, How much so far and how much you think your little project is going to cost ya. It's a real neat idea. Keep posting the picks.

So far, maybe, $2k. It should come in between $8k and $10k.

Kirk-Love the project. Great vision and great execution from what I can see. But please, can you change your avatar? Everytime I see it, I start to wonder where my kids are and hope they're not close to YOU.

This rules! Very cool.. keep the pics coming.

Also, Oprah called and said that 39 LaSalle in the background looks like her "Vajay-jay" whatever that means.

  23. When did the "Polished Turd" become the hoity toity "Legion Special"? Looks bitchen either way!

  24. I'm glad to see your credit cards are recovering nicely from the Starliner. (or did you sell it?)

Shit, I wish. Thankfully Matt is part of the cause of the project, so I won't be losing my ass.

Plus, all the parts are scavenged from my old project, the body was Matt's and a lot of the steel is from my accumulated stash.
