You know who's a ruler? FAB32, that's who. He's had this bitchin Edelbrock X1 hanging on the wall in his shop for years. Little did I know, the first time he saw the direction my sedan was taking, he decided that I would end up with it. What more can you say about a guy who would rather give a Hell of a deal on his vintage speed equipment to a punk kid like me, rather than Ebay it for stupid money and never see it again. What a guy. He also threw in a basket of nice Holley 94's to top it off. Thanks to Frank and all the old timers a who get the most enjoyment out of keeping hot rodding going for the generations that follow them. Rulers, all of ya.

Lucky77 you are a LUCKY man!! What a way to make a sbc different from the rest! I hope it's going on a 327 or something cool. The front oil fill means you can use the chevy v-top or script valve covers. WAAY COOL!!

It's going on my sedan to replace the single 2 bbl. and Caddy aircleaner that I got from FuelPump, another guy who's helped me out with cool parts, moral support, knowledge, and general hot rod enthusiasm. The motor is a nasty small block out of my circle track car. Huge roller cam, solid lifters, 12.3:1 compression, etc. Hopefully I'll have two of the carbs running by Autorama but having all six functioning is the ultimate goal. Here's the car if you're not familliar with it.

    Scott,
You know I had a 99 year lease on that intake for my 37 before Frank got his hands on it.:D I'm just glad its in good hands now and I can't wait to see it on your Model A although I am a little partial to that Caddy aircleaner;).

good intake. you will want to run all six using eelco progressive linkage. Buy a couple tri power sets. DOES NOT bolt up without machine work and much dicking around, shortening rods, re-tapping threads etc. [ like advertised ] but end result real nice.

Yeah, Frank says he's got an Eelco six deuce progressive linkage somewhere in that shop of his. I think Moon still makes a 6 port fuel distribution block too so I should be all set. I'm battling furnace issues at home right now or I'd go set it up on a small block out in the garage just to see what it looks like.

I see from the pictures that you have the intake and carbs in the kitchen. You can always tell a single hot rodder because he can get away with that kind of stuff.
I had a rodder friend that got a divorce right after he finished remodeling his whole house. The first winter he was single I went to visit and right in the middle of the living room was his Harley all torn down and a oil spot about 2' in diameter on the new carpet right in front of the TV. Come spring, after he finished the overhaul, he fired it up, rode down the hall, out on the porch and down the front steps, just like he got it in the house last fall.

Yeah, LuckysGal is going to be bummed having to walk around that 1952 Triumph Speed Twin that's getting delivered to it's new home in our bedroom:eek: Hey, what do you want me to do? the garage is full:D I couldn't resist, here's a mock up shot on an old short track motor out in the garage. I can't believe how menacing this setup makes the little SBC look!

Is this the same Frank that I know?

I think you and Rich have brainwashed the poor guy, or made him drink the purple kool-aid. First a 32 coupe body, now an x-1 intake.... whats next??? (I call dibs):D

When he wakes up to realize what he has done, he is gonna be pissed.

Can I get in line for the air cleaner?

Frank's great, so's Rich. Scott has some work to do but he'll come around.

If you want proof his car will scare old ladies, do a search on here for a GMB breakfast from about a year ago where he came out of the restaurant sideways. The eyes of the minivan driver are priceless!!

Great set of folks up there.

Yes my hat is off to him, I am sure he is a guy like me who hates to have to go to ------BAY (congrats your the winner you paid more than anyone in the whole wide world) to find parts; I miss the days of going to a swapmeet and FINDING something you needed, the thrill of the hunt, the friendships made the B.S. spoken. I guess we can thank that LIBERAL al gore the father of the internet for this. When the love of our hobbie becomes all about $$$$$$$$$$ it sure takes away from the fun. Hope we all have a healthy and happy New Year. :D

He finally gave in, huh? It'll look great on your sedan. Congrats.

Hey, Frank - That guy sounds like my dad. Every house he had was decorated with a motorcycle in the living room. He laid up the hood to a roundy-round snowmobile in the dining room. "Just don't breath in", was his advice.

    My wife would freak.

Did ya get another motorcycle, Scott?
