It would be nice to know if any members of congress are into cl***ics, hotrods, antiques etc. It's like AOPA of the aviation community. They know who is AOPA members that are friendly to general aviation. There should be pe***ions at every car show in the country. I expect the Antique Automobile ***n. should jump on this and there are a ton of them.

yup fired away! i would make a case for turning in cars with no history in Automotivedom or ones which were built out of need for a communting appliance read almost any front drive Toyota or honda-hyundai-nissan-datsun-chevy-ford-chrysler product. the rest have use to fantasies and dreams....

Message sent as well. I used a different twist. It's no big secret the automakers most profitable segment of their business is OEM parts and repair. So let's s**** all these vehicles that generate this revenue, give a tax incentive to someone who cannot or does not want to into debt for 5 years and would most likely be a higher credit risk?? I'm sure the automakers would really really like this program. This just further reinforces our disposable society...s**** some perfectly good or repairable vehicles for a short term gain. It would take one helluva tax incentive to get someone to s**** a vehicle and get them into a new car. I have a better idea to ... After having had the opportunity to visit China and seeing all the really ****py cars belching pollution I thought why not try to monopolize on this situation by selecting a decent US car that had a good production run (Ford Taurus for example) buy them up used in the US by the container load, as well as every junkyard used and OEM spare parts you could get your hands on , and set-up a huge used car lot in Beijing selling and repairing these vehicles cheap. Out of their 3 billion people vs our 300 million people I think I could sell a helluva lot of cars, improve their air quality and reuse a lot of stuff that may have been s****ped.
I don't know about the rest, but these folks are state legislators and won't have any impact on Federal legislation. -Dave
