Interior sounds real "olde worldy" . Yes that is a technical term for those that ask.

untanned leather looks real nice if you rub it with some used motor oil and the wood looks great with some satin varnish on it. Mahogany is a good weather resistant choice. You're going high class on us Kirk.

Cool that you are using the 6 from your old project,
    especially with those carbs,
woulda been a bummer to let it go without at least hearing it.
    You guys are fast!

No. I wish we could salvage it, but it will get a full paint job eventually.

Is this close to the intended seating position? or are you going to be able to get a little lower?

Sitting on top of the tranny and torque tube it's hard to get low.

To bad the White Horse has to go. My wifes old village in England has a cool little pub named the same.

Oh - the rod is cool too!

Flipper, build it a little wider and sit next to the drive shaft &tranny or set the engine as low as possible.Single place cars have some unique problems. They put a box piece below the frame for foot room.

Did you crawl into my bed last night open my brain and take my idea of a perfect interior? I had planned a similar interior for my coupe but utilizing brown distressed leather instead of the black. That thing is going to be a ball of awesomeness rolling down a hill picking up more and more awesomeness as it goes.

  14. he is sitting on the end of the torque tube, can't you see the bottom poking out beneath the car?

OK, if it's a 32 driveshaft it must not be a Ford one 'cause that is an solid steel bar.

If you're talking FORD, the driveshaft which is hollow and tapered at both ends and was used by many early racers on their cars is found in some Fords from 1936-1938. Of course these rearends fit under other years so you never know until you pull the torque tube whether you have a hollow shaft or not, so never pass a free rearend, it may be hiding a very desireable driveshaft.

I don't think so. The other pics look like it is an open rear end

....and his feet are on the ground supporting his weight.

The question is if he is squatting enough to be at the real butt height.

I will be lower. I was standing in there with my knees bent in that pic. My butt will only be about 3-4" above the floor of the car.

That's the kind I'm talking about. Tapered on both ends. I was told they were '32. I don't care, they are just cool!
