Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Dec 31, 2008.

  1. Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE buying old Fords. I did a thread like this last year, and was blown away by how many people saved some great old cars!!! Lets see how everyone did this year...what did you buy/save this past year??

Happy new year everyone, heres some of mine before and afters:

I'll bite. I picked up another '48 F1 back in January, two 1949 IH KB2's in March, and a '62 Fairlane in Oct. However I sold a 1973 IH 4x4 1210, and my trusty ol' 88 Tbird went to the Ford JY in the sky. Needless to say, the wife was not thrilled.

I don't know if I've "saved" anything, but I did buy a couple of cars:

1948 (?) Diamond T model 201 one ton pickup. This one is going to be our trailer puller, I have the front suspension from a Chev van (narrowed) under it now, the van's 350 TBI/4L60E, and a Dana 70 rear axle. It'll be a real one ton pickup, we travel with a '46 Spartan Manor trailer, a little too much for our '51 Pontiac wagon or the '48 Pontiac convert.

1962 Impala Sport Sedan. This one I did for my son, he was tired of his '68 Mustang convert. It's a nice old car, I drove it from Michigan to Las Vegas after doing a painting it and replacing the heater core. Of course, the A/C failed on the way out...

All I bought this year was a stupid '73 Satellite that I'm trying to sell now.

However, hopefully 2009 is going to bring me a couple of free '57 or '58 mopar two door hardtops.... The one I've seen is a Dodge, the other looks like a Chrysler or Imperial....

I'm having a hard time not jumping the gun, but I have to remain patient. Patience is not one of my stronger qualities....

The same guy also has a F1 pickup that might be had for free, and a running late 50's early 60's Cadillac Coupe Deville he'd sell for real cheap, as in couple hundred, might pick those up, too.

Chris, if you decide to part with any of those 30-31 Roadsters, or parts of 'em, I've got a home for 'em! ;)

I found the F-1 sitting in a pasture with a bunch of other cars. The rearend was cut out and it was laying on its frame. I got it home swapped the junk 283 for a 350. I don't have a pic of how it sat but the pic in my avatar is when we got it home

My 17 yr old son and I pulled this 1959 Ford F100 out of a barn, lowered it 4.5" added disc brakes and a new rearend, tires and wheels and he drove it all summer. 292 Y block 3 on the tree.

I even have the bill of sale when it was bought in 1964 from a car dealership here in town for $450.00!!!!! I gave a lot more than that for it in 2008!!!! This is a cool thread! Bought a few this year. A couple are O/T, but I'll share.

The 71 Chevy is a real barn fine 1 owner 74k original miles parked in 92. The 2 58 4-doors are going to be used for parts so I dont know if I really saved them or not?? The 58 2 door is one that I'm doing a build thread on. That one I did save as no one else would have! The Minor went to a HAMB member. Got a couple of more I just haven't picked up yet so I'll wait till next year to show those!

And I had to save the May West pump!
