A 40 Standard coupe is my ultimate vehicle - this looks like it's already a great start for your new project.

I presently own one, built French block flatty/5-speed/4-bar front/DB/8" w/3:50 gearset - and it's black, of course.

Here's an older pic .... she's lower now with different (Chrysler) rims and tires.

Good luck with your project and keep us all posted on your progress ....

40's are pretty much my second all time favorite Fords...and that one look's like the PERFECT foundation for one bad**** car!

I'd take a standard over a deluxe anyday. Maybe because my first ride was a 39 deluxe coupe. Yikes that was almost 40 years ago!

Looks real nice Squigy. Had a chopped '39 coupe a hundred years ago that I let get away. Made a quick $50 on it, stupid - stupid - stupid. Anything happening with the tank?

Nope, no pics of the '39. This was when I lived in Lauderdale in the early '70s. It had a real well done chop with a sectioned hood and raised front fenders. When I got it it was just a rolling body and frame. Someone had done a butcher job trying to channel it but it sure could have been brought back. If I only knew then what I know now.
