I'm still alive and healthier than ever. I've missed all of you Street Racing Mo Fo's from BOA, JACK N THE BOX, the brothers in Compton, Orangethorp blvd., Diamond Bar, Indian Hill, Whittier, Hawthorne, Lawndale, Bellflower, Downey, Lakewood and so on. Also the Racers in Chicago from '68-'71, by the projects off the Dan Ryan Expressway (crazy *** bro's, off the frickin hook) where "George" gave me my nick name, "Got'cha" which went on the back of my black fastback '64 Ford, 427, 425 h.p., 4-spd, Galaxie. Thanks George, I owe ya man! Great handle you blessed me with. I try to do the name "Got'cha" proud in all that I do. I'm not computer literate and would like some help posting old pic's of street racing and the cars that are memories in many peoples minds. I remember most everything, names, places, and events that most would forget. I want to help you all remember the whole story if I can. And lots of it I can do with pic's for you. If your an old member of "RACE?" (I was pres.), Big Willie/Tamico (I'm the vice-pres. for Van Nuys and the lettering co-ordinator), ACCVN (***ociated Car Clubs of Van Nuys) (I was vice pres. for 2 terms) do get hold of me. Is Super Jew out there? Golinbeski? Joe DaLuka, Paul Curry, Screwy Louie, the Asian with the Camaro that could shift like me, Jim Sedan, Bob Brant (Don Perdomes crew chief) and so-on. I miss you guys!! Peace out.
Goms, do you remember a Bobs Bigboy that was a hot spot? my old man used to frequent that spot in a burgandy 58 vette, he said there were so many fast cars around those parts
Which Bob's? Van Nuys, Toluca Lake, San Fernando, glendale? I'm sure you dad hit them all. The only burgandy early vette I remember was a VICIOUS '57-'58-'59 manhandeled by a monster named "Bear". We hung out at a friends shop, Tom Walker's in North Hollywood. At that time I was racing the '66 Fairlane in the pictures, it was called "Dark Shadows", ran a 427 Ford with a c-6, in the 12's. That would be wild if you were Bear's kid!!!
Spoke with pops last night and he said they would cruise from Bobs to Bobs and hit them all, he had a burgandy 58 vette with cheater slicks and cragars, it got stolen in 73 from our driveway so he would go out with his buddy in a all white 409
God, I hope Bear didn't steal your dads car!!! He, in fact was a car theft, nice guy, but a car theft none the less. Was it stole in the no.Hollywood, Burbank area?
Hey John... Just thought I'd say a quick hello. Spent many a night with you, Diane, Bobby, Sanchez, Sonny and Fat Ron back in the day at the house on Mayall. I saw Harlan and Tony Noto last night at the VNY Blvd Cruise Night, and it brought back a flood of memories... Hope this finds you well.... Bounty Hunter -- Race, sfv (with the big R)
